Congratulations Brownie!

Wow. I just don't know how a person runs for 28 hours and 38 minutes with a little break of 15 minutes after mile 50, but it looks like that's what Brownie did! Haven't heard the entire story of the last 50 miles, but it's still amazing. So while I was all cozy in my bed last night, sleeping for 7 hours, that wanker was out running in the middle of the night. So everyone go congratulate him here! And hey, he will now be the proud owner of a silver belt buckle, just in time for his return to Texas. Hee hee hee.

Leadville 100 Miler

This is how the Leadville website describes the course: 50 miles out and back in the midst of the Colorado Rockies. Lowest point is 9,200 ft. and the highest point is Hope Pass, 12,600 ft. The majority is on forest trails with some mountain roads. Pacers allowed after the 50 mile point. 11 well-supplied aid stations with cut-offs; 5 are medical checks.

Race mementos and t-shirts to all entrants. Finishers under 25 hours will receive a large, handcrafted gold and silver trophy belt buckle. Finishers under 30 hours will receive a handcrafted silver belt buckle. A hooded sweatshirt and medal to all finishers. All women finishers under 30 hours will also receive a gold and silver pendant. Fantastic awards for gender and age group top finishers. Unique ore cart trophy to the first male and female finisher.

I am going to do a write up of what is what like to crew for him. He is such an animal. There were a few sections that he ran like a mad man; It was super impressive to see it. Especially after how tired he was. Wow

Wait till you read what he writes....
