Stop the Press!
Last night, I worked out for the first time this year. Woot woot! Ok, so I have used my new Garmin several times after Christmas last year, but this was my first run of '08. I'm pretty much a lazy slacker who would prefer to just eat and drink, but I am determined to hike up a 14er this year. And I mean, hike up without having to stop 5,000 times to catch my breath. Before I started hashing, I actually worked out quite a bit, so I know I can do it. :)
I need to check out upcoming race schedules so I can have mini goals. You know, little 5Ks and the Capitol 10,000, etc. That will keep me motivated on slacker days. I even spent an hour and a half at the grocery store last night buying only healthy foods. Let's see how long I can make it without fast food. I lasted 2 weeks in December.....then my brother came into town and that went out the window.
Last night stats:
Time: 30 minute jog around my neighborhood.
Distance: None of your business. I'm slow, so don't worry about it. But since I'm just starting up running again, my shins and ankles started to hurt by 0.85 miles. Suckfest. Finally, after 1.5 miles my legs started to feel good and I could keep a decent pace. Well, decent for me! Baby steps....
Temperature: Who the F knows? I forgot to check out my iPhone weather page when I got home. It felt nice out, that's all I know.
Is it time for Daylight Savings yet? I HATE that it gets dark so damn quickly.

AWESOME!!! Glad you did it! Its fun isn't it? LOL
I wouldn't say fun yet. Once my stupid shins stop hurting and once my ankles stop feeling like bricks, THEN it'll be fun!
Let me know if you ever want to do some superfun hill sprints at Murchinson:)
The San Antonio marathon is now a Rock and Roll marathon. One band every mile. You should do that.
Actually, my aunt is getting back into marathons. She has done 9, but none in the last 5-6 years. She is training for the Long Beach Marathon Oct 12 of this year. I told her maybe I'd do the 1/2. It'd be awesome weather, plus beautiful beach scenery!
Oh really? Then I guess you decided you DON'T want to borrow it on the Asshole trail at Tex-Mex then??
When are you doing a 14er? Maybe I'll show up and tackle it with you...
Haven't decided when to do a 14er...gotta get more in shape first. When do you return to the states?
Good for you! I was just thinking about getting on my new treadmill...
