Speaking of Daddy's Day Weekend.....
JUNE 16th is the KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD FEST AND 5K RUN!
The 2007 Keep Austin Weird Fest is Austin's celebration of all people, places and things that make Austin unique. Taking place on Saturday, June 16th, for the first time the run is moving downtown with Republic Square Park as the festival location.
Tickets to the festival and concert are available online and at any local GetTix location like Waterloo Records. Gates open at noon, with music and fun from 12:00-10:00 PM. Passes will get you in to see Bob Schneider, Alejandro Escovedo, Soulhat, South Austin Jug Band, Patricia Vonne, The Steps, and Amy Cook.
In addition to a great day of Music, the Chronicle's Best of Austin Biz-aar will feature great local retailers, food and other businesses like the Alamo Draft House Movie Tent, 1379 Kids Zone, Austin Farmer's Market, Lambert's, Amy's Ice Cream, Salt Lick, Austin's Pizza, Amy's Ice Cream and much more. Waterloo will be out selling CDs for the performing artists, as well.
So come join me for the Weird Fest and 5K on Saturday, then come hash my trail on Sunday!

Sounds like a blast. Hey let me know how Soulhat and SA Jug Band sound if you get the chance to hear them. I am thinking of going to see the jug band in July in Houston. Haven't seen Soulhat in ages! Also what is a Jiggy Crunk sing a long?
Me either! Haven't seen SoulHat since the good ol' Black Cat days. And I love the Jug Band live tons better than their CD.
Jiggy Crunk is a thing I'm going to at the Alamo Drafthouse. I'll put the link on my weekly calendar. Sounds hilarious!

That used to be my favorite race, but it's just not just the same since it became the "Keep Austin Weird 5K sponsored by Budweiser."

Yeah, remember that A-hole who worked for Bud who was a totaly dick to me when he found out we passed out FREE St. Arnold's? He claimed he wasn't sponsoring this race again...ever. I"ll have to see if I see any Bud signs anywhere.
They changed the route and ending location, so I'm hoping it's better this year.
