Where's Elvis?

Finally got a couple of pics to load.

This past Sunday I participated in my very first picture hash. STRAP-ON ELVIS was the hare and it was the Where's Elvis Trail.

It was fun, except for the fact that it was in the triple digits and trail was all pavement around downtown Austin with little shade. Other than that, I really enjoyed this type of trail. Of course, you had to know Austin bars, restaurants and other landmarks in order to follow this trail. Hope that visitor from Chicago didn't get too lost!

If you have never done a hash like this, here is the scoop on what ELVIS did. At the start, he showed us one picture of himself in front of a place in Austin. We ran to that location and looked for more pictures. Here he had 3 different pics for us to look at. You had to guess which picture was the true trail and which pics were falses. If you were lucky, the first one you tried had more pictures once you arrived. If so, that meant you were on trail. If not, you came to an "F" and had to remember the other locations in the other pics and had to then run to those locations. At each correct location you came to, there was a check mark with either 2 or 3 pictures taped to a street sign, utility pole, etc, etc. I tried to take a picture at every location I came to, false or true...but forgot a couple of times. Forgot to get a pic at the Chain Drive and Hooter's on Riverside!

Anyway, the first stop was at our hasher bar, Lovejoy's.

ELVIS had pre-arranged with LJ's to give every hasher a free house beer, instead of them giving us beer for circle, like they do every week. We soon found everyone except for SMEGMA and CREAMADONNA. They had last been heard saying they were gonna run towards Palmer Events Center, when they should have run to the Austin Convention Center! Those boys were waaaaaay lost. The pack soon took off and we eventually made our way over to Republic Park for the 2nd beer check. A few haswhers were scolded by cops for playing in the fountains. Hellooooo, did I mention how hot it was??

After a little break, we gave up on the 2 lost boys showing up and the pack set off again. We made our way over to the 3rd beer check at the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue, via Hooter's on Riverside. I should have known that was a false since ELVIS works for a different wings place! But, I really was hoping it'd be there because I needed a bathroom break. Still no sign of the lost boys, and we were right by the Palmer Events Center now. Too bad there was no trail to find...only pictures scattered here and there since people took them off the utility poles to use in searching out the location.

Trail ended soon after at Zilker Park. After we had all eaten and were about to start circle, the 2 lost boys came running in. Actually, they were racing to not be DFL! Drink for racing! The hare had provided a lovely toilet and filled it up with ice. Just the perfect item to use for icing hashers on an Elvis trail. :)

Blogger is being a little bee-atch right now and won't upload individual pics. So to view them all, click here.

P.S. I forgot to give a shout out to BONE SUCKER and (MASSIVE) SLUT SLINGER. They both had awesome Elvis outfits! Super cool, yo.
P.P.S. BITCH, JAMES BITCH got an award for 25 runs and STRAP-ON ELVIS got his 69 runs hat. Congrats boys!

Elvis left 2 pics of every location, but I guess sometimes people took both of them. Plus, at the beer checks, he passed them around so they weren't taped to anything!

definitely one of the times that staying with the pack would have been a good idea

Yo, I perfected the picture hash with the haunted hash last year. There was free beer at LJ's? DAMN. Although after 2 ciders and a shot of jager, I really didn't need another drink.
