Chuck Norris Poison Ivy Hash

Ok, so I am jumping back to where I left off on posting hash pics....before TX Interhash came along.

Back on March 5, I went to the Chuck Norris Hash. Or, as I like to call it, the Poison Ivy Hash through Walnut Creek. Since it's been a month and a half, I don't recall all the fun stories. We pretty much we waded through Walnut Creek 95% of the trail. I got my first case of poison ivy for the first time in my life. Guess I need to finally invest in that Technu stuff, or whatever it's called! Read the hash trash if you want more info on the run. Oh yeah, blASSt Zone's brother Steve was visiting from Seattle, so this was his first hash run ever. He loved it!

Afterwards we hit up a couple of our favorite dive bars on Burnet Road. Long live the Burnet Road Challenge! Hope I'm here for the 2nd Annual Challenge in October. We had to show Steve Chicken Shit Bingo at Ginny's and then we ended up at the Poodle Dog Lounge and danced the night away.

Almost forgot! Once I finally got home, showered and got into bed, I got a phone call. Turns out some Killeen folks had come into town for a Roller Girl game and wanted to hit IHOP before the drive home. They were stopping at the one 2 minutes from my house so I got up, threw on some jeans and met them for a late night breakfast. TICKET almost got us kicked out for continuing to use their announcement speaker thing. He was talking to other customers as well as the IHOP employees over the loud speaker. That boy is nuts. Anyway, think I finally went to bed around 2:30am. Let's just say that Monday at work sucked.

Here are the pics.

April 7-9 Weekend on the Lake: Day Three

So I woke up at Lesley's place Sunday morning. Said goodbye to Amber, Paul and little Sloane and relaxed back onto the couch. Had a good chat with Leslo, since we didn't really get to talk much at the shindig, and then realized it was after 10am already. I had to jet because I needed to be at the marina between 12-12:30pm...and Lesley lives on the other side of town and of course, I was on fumes. Had to find the closest gas station, get home to shower and change, grab food and wait at the grocery store until noon so I could buy beer. Arrived at the marina at 12:30pm and joined the others. It was a beautiful day and I was excited about sailing around the lake. Today's mission was to test out some things for the A.S.S. Hunt in May. The main thing we tested was the bread launcher. Hilarious! We pelted the other 2 boats with soggy bread balls...SPLAT! After the lake we decided home grilled burgers sounded yummy, so off to the Keever's we went.

April 7-9 Weekend on the Lake: Day Two

***Whoo-hoo! Gordon sent his pics from the April 7 Friday Floating Happy Hour for Babsie's birthday. Click here for pics.***

So Saturday morning I woke up quite early on the boat...with a headache. Guess I had a little too much wine and not enough dinner the night before. Decided I needed some fresh air, so I went to chill out on the netting. It was still pretty windy and cold, but the sun on my face felt amazing.

Those Keevers are coffee nuts, so they were busy making that nasty stuff in the cabin while I was recovering. Yeah, they actually keep a coffee maker on their boat! Man, I sooo needed a water or diet coke right about then, but all I had left was beer and I wasn't ready for that just yet. After about 30 minutes of chilling in the sun I started to feel better. We all hung out in Devil's Cove for a little while and then decided it was time to sail back to the marina. NOW it was time for some cold beer! Thought it might also help out with my headache...no such luck...but it was an absolutely gorgeous day and I wasn't ready to go home.

We stopped for a bite to eat at Mesa Rosa on the way home. It's a little Mexican restaurant 1 block from my elementary school. Ahh, the old neighborhood. On my way home I decided to drive through the neighborhood where I grew up. Drove by my old house, my piano teacher's home, the tennis courts where I used to watch my parents play in tournaments and the club where I went swimming every summer. Saw old friend's houses and wondered if their parents still lived there. It was a nice cruise down memory lane. The weird thing was seeing how the new owners of my old house had totally changed everything!

Once I got home I ended up crashing out for a few hours. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep out on the boat...woke up way too early, plus the little incident with the portable toilet... Had to rush to get ready for JUST LESLEY'S, err, I mean, SMELLS LIKE TEEN FANNY'S house warming party. It was so good to see my friend Amber again. I haven't seen her since she got married and had a little girl...who is now 14 months old. We hung out at Lesley's until about 11:30pm and then headed to the Ginger Man. We had STRAP-ON ELVIS with us, so he suggested we have late night snacks at his old Plucker's on Rio Grande. I'm sure they loved us showing up around 2:30am when they close at 3am! Oh well...we had Elvis with us so I guess it was ok.

I ended up crashing at Lesley's place since I didn't feel like driving across town at 3:30am. I also didn't bring my camera since it was still not working properly, so I am relying on others for pics.

April 7-9 Weekend on the Lake: Day One

So there I was, trying to get through Friday traffic so I could have fun on the lake for Babsie's [JUST BARBARA] birthday. I was going to attend my very first Floating Friday Happy Hour on Lake Travis. I made a quick stop at Tuscany Market to pick up some wine because they usually carry a favorite of mine, Proyecto 4, and Babsie likes red wine. They were sold out! I grabbed an old standby favorite [The Stump Jump] and tried a new one as well.

I finally arrived at the marina and got situated on the Keever's [blASSt ZONE & CUMONAWANALAYA] sailboat. We headed over to Devil's Cove and met up with some other A.S.S. folks. We then got a call from TUCK IT, wondering what was going on after the Lovejoy's happy hour, so he and DBD headed to the lake as well. We had a good group on the Keever's boat: blASSt ZONE, CUMONAWANALAYA, JUST BARBARA, SPHINCTER BLINKER, JUST BRIDGETT, DEATH BY DILDO, TUCK IT UP THE BUTT, Tina [non-hasher friend of Babsie's] and myself. Thanks to GREAT DANE PAIN for shuttling folks in his motor boat to and from the marina next to Carlos 'n Charlie's!

We then broke out the b-day snacks, put away the beer and brought out the wine. Everything was delicious...Janna even made some shrimp. Had good times chilling in the cove with good friends. Next thing I know, GREAT DANE PAIN was about to head out for his one and only shuttle drop off, so most everyone split. Once he returned, the boys wanted to play 42, but I'm not big on dominoes. I play Spades, but we needed 4 people anyway and Janna had crashed out already. Somehow we went from sitting around the table, ready to play games, to all crashed out.

I woke up in the middle of the night, freezing cold, to find that Hovis had bailed. Guess we took up all the sleeping areas in the cabin and he must have been quite cold on his boat. Janna and I needed to use the bathroom, but we soon found that it was completely full. Nothing like having to pump pee into a bucket at 5am. Thanks to Darin [blASSt ZONE] for taking care of that unpleasant situation! We decided it was time to close up the cabin due to the dropping temperature and Janna realized that I didn't have a blanket. So with the cabin closed off and a sleeping bag, I was finally cozy and warm.

What a great night! Unfortunately, my digital camera is officially not snapping photos anymore, so no pics until I get the link from Janna and/or Gordon. I couldn't even bring one of my film cameras because both batteries were dead. Oh well...back to Best Buy I go to ship off my digital. :(

Strap-On's B-day; Darkside Hash

STRAP-ON ELVIS..always on the phone with work!

Ok, so I am severely behind in posting hash photos. I skipped ahead to post Interhash ones, and now I'm backtracking. Let's see just how much I recall....

So I left work early on March 1 and headed straight for Ski Shores a little after 3pm. Met up with some friends for STRAP-ON ELVIS' birthday. Was a beautiful day to hang out by the lake, drinking cold beer, chilling with friends. More and more people started showing up. Some hashers, some Elvis' co-workers from Plucker's. After a few hours it was time to head off to the Darkside Hash. We ended up not having time to go home to change, so we had to go as is. But since the Darkside is more of a pub crawl, a skirt would be just fine, right? I made a quick stop to buy some flip flops though because heels wouldn't have been fun!

We met up at Riata Bar and Grill for a couple of drinks, watched a little basketball [this was the night A&m beat the Longhorns!] and then headed outside for chalk talk by RING AROUND THE PANTY. And then we were off. 1st stop was at B.B. Rover's. DAY OLD FISH must have passed a liquor store on the way because he showed up with a fresh bottle of Jager [that he snuck in to Rover's].

We then headed off and our next stop was Camino Real. It's a little Mexican joint that has great breakfast tacos. Anyway, we invaded their bar area. After that was the On-In in the parking lot. We had quite a few hash virgins due to Elvis' birthday. A lot of his Plucker's crew showed up. Haven't seen any of them come back to a hash, so maybe they were scared off? We had a good cirle, until the cop showed up. Had to cut it a little short and move the party to Munson's house. Played some beer pong and then it was time to call it a night.

Pics are here.

P.S. This was also the night I had a little too much to drink and came home to post a drunken blog about the Aggies beating the Longhorns in basketball. Good times, good times.

Yet another bet I am destined to win

vs.
Seems like my buddy Brownie likes to lose. Every time we bet on something, I win. I was just offered another bet today and accepted. So, everyone out there...watch some baseball April 21-23.

When the Astros win the series with the Pirates this April, I win another bottle of Colorado Vodka. If by some chance my beloved 'Stros lose the series, I owe Brownie Boy a bottle of Tito's Vodka.

Berkman is gonna kick some Bucs booty!
