3M Racists!

While trying to find Tiffany, I ran into Jim & Gordon (Beaver Cleaver & Sphincter Blinker). They did an awesome job at the 3M race!

Here are my signs. The phrase on the pink one wasn't my idea, but we thought it was funny!

I greeted Tiffany at the end with a Gator Beer for a job well done.....dee-lish!

Afterwards we went over to Serrano's for breakfast with the Rogue folks. They had set up a breakfast buffet and opened up the bar. Ohhhhh yeah. We started with a couple of margaritas, then I had to switch to beer because of the sweetness. Reminded me a little of Tex-Mex since they served ritas with breakfast this year. Thank goodness because not everyone likes bloody mary's! Anyway, we were some of the last people hanging around and it was only 10:45-11am. So I took Tiffany back to her car, went home to walk the dogs, took a 20 minute nap, packed up my stuff and loaded my car, and then bolted to the hash. Man, this was gonna be a loooooooong day.

Tiff's Awesome Afternoon in Austin

So last Saturday I went to the Town Lake H&B trail with Tiffany. We did the 3 mile loop (actually 2.76 miles due to where we parked). It was absolutely gorgeous outside! She was very impressed with how many people were out on the trail and greatly enjoyed the scenery. Afterwards, I took her over to Barton Springs to check it out. She got a snow cone and I got a corn dog. Man, I just can’t say no to those things! (What a nice healthy meal after exercising, eh?) We watched some guy doing crazy yoga stances right by the water. Don’t know how he balanced like that…he was upside down most of the time. It was funny to see some people swimming in the cold water, some folks sun bathing in swim suits, and some folks walking around with jackets and scarves on. Crazy.

After we hung out a bit by the pool we decided we needed some adult beverages. Baby A's was just down the street, so we went to check out their purple margaritas...which Tiff renamed Purple Hooters. At first we didn't really feel anything (these have Everclear and several other liquors in it), so we ordered another. Still nothing, but it was getting late and she needed to get home to get ready for her big race.

So we went our seperate ways. I stopped by the grocery store to get posterboard to make some signs. Then the drinks hit me. Man, it took me FOREVER to finish 2 signs for Tiffany's race. You can check out the signs on my next post. Here are some from our afternoon.

Barton Springs Pool

Baby A's had fun shirts for only $8! So we both got one. :)

Is it 5 o'clock yet?!?!

1. It sounded like a great idea to drink a Gator Beer at 8am while cheering on the 3M-ers Sunday morning.
2. It was also nice drinking margaritas and beer at Serrano's with the Rogue gang after the race.
3. The beers went down quite quickly during the hash Sunday afternoon.
4. The margarita at La Feria after the hash was ok.
5. Ginny's Little Longhorn...we may have missed Chicken Shit Bingo, but man, I had a blast there...from what I can remember.
6. Passing out at 10pm should have helped, right?
7. Woke up at 5:50am and felt fine.
8. What the heck is going on now? Why the delayed headache/hangover?!

My head is about to explode. I need more water. Please make it be 5 o'clock NOW!!!!

Snowdown....It's On!

Got an email from Heinous saying there was a cancellation. Whoo-hoo! I'm going to my very 1st Snowdown!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Hope there is still room in Bone Sucker's Suburban!

Bizarre

How is it that if I sleep in my own bed, I will snooze for 20-30 minutes and barely crawl out of bed at the last possibly minute to get ready for work. BUT, crash on a friend's couch and I wake up without an alarm at 5:50am and immediately get up like it's no problem? Just doesn't make sense to me. I actually left my house this morning at the time I normally wake up!

I Met Blogger Tiff!

I finally met Blogger Tiff! Had dinner at Chuy's with her and Austin Duathlete John. It was great to finally meet you Tiff...you are a hoot!

And she had her very first Lone Star. :)

But since we had all partied the night before, we just had several beers with dinner and then went on our own way. It's on Sunday morning though, after the race!

Good luck to all the 3M runners!!!

p.s. I almost forgot about the bet between Tiffany and John. Let's see....If Tiff beats John (chip time +6 minutes), then he buys all her drinks on Sunday. If John beats her, she buys al his drinks that day. Then, the 2nd bet...Tiff also wins if she beats her PR of 2:18. I think I got all that correct.
Chicks rule! Go kick his ass Tiff!!!

BFC & Plucker's

Ok, so last night I missed the AD Pub Run because I already had plans with my softball buddies and I hadn't seen them in AGES. Didn't want to get kicked off the Girls Drinking Team, no could I?! It was time for a team meeting before the new season starts, plus they needed to officially give Plucker's the trophies they won. The Betty Ford Clinic softball team kicks ass!
It was great to see everyone again...had been too long due to the off season and me missing some games last year.

While everyone was getting ready to leave, I noticed that Bitch, James Bitch was working. Actually, he was closing out and said that he and Hippie Swallow were gonna head up to Trudy's Northstar to meet some other Plucker's folks. I wasn't quite ready to go home, so I followed them. I just love their Mexican Martinis!
After they ate, we headed up to the bar area that was still open...the smoking section. GAG. I hate it up there. Makes my eyes water. Stayed for a little while but then the smoke was getting to me and I had to make sure I got to work on time. So I bolted around 1am.

Check it out Brownie...a fellow Pennsylvania guy who loves Yuengling!

Came home to find 2 dogs full of energy and ready to play. So what's a drunkard to do? I played ball with them and turned on my laptop. Apparently I sent out some drunk emails. I can't type or spell to save my life when drunk. Finally at 2am I called it quits and somehow managed to set the alarm clock correctly. Was only 10 minutes late to work, and that's because I stopped for food on the way. So, I was bummed about missing the AD Pub Run, but I had a blast with my other friends. :)

Here are the pics.

Gorgeous

It is absolutely gorgeous outside and I hated having to come back to work. Sure wish I could work from my laptop, wherever I wanted. Then I'd be on a patio with a cold beer, updating the PAC database. How cool would that be?

It's so pretty out that I didn't even get upset when my driver's side speaker blew during lunch. I heard this loud POP and thought a tire was messed up...but that wasn't it. Finally discovered that my speaker is whacked. Add that to the list of things I need to take care of.

Soooooo, what to do this evening? Will I want to party again tonight? Will I be good and go jogging since it's so freakin' gorgeous outside? Will I peter out since I went to bed at 2am last night? Will I stay at home with the pups (dog sitting this weekend) and watch the 2 movies I have from Netflix: The Last Kiss and The Goonies. No, I've never seen the Goonies. It's a friend of mine's all-time favorite movie and he said I must watch it. Well, I've had it for several months and still haven't had the urge.....maybe this weekend.

So what are you guys up to this evening? Sure wish I could go to the Kimchi Movie Night!

p.s. Oh yeah! Blogger Tiffany is in town. What's going on tonight, Tiff??

White Tea...work your magic!

I am majorly dragging today. Been yawning since I returned from lunch and can't stop! Even took a 20 minute nap in my car at the end of my lunch hour since I finished my errands pretty quickly. The warm sun felt great...but it made my chest and neck red. Luckily, it turned into normal color pretty fast, so I only looked like I was sunburnt for a short time! Anyway, band boy just saw me yawning and yawning and offered me some of his white tea. I've never been a big tea drinker, but I recently got some as a gift and it was actually pretty good. Although, it says it's an herbal infusion and has no caffeine. How is that supposed to wean me off my diet cokes?! Here is the yummy stuff I have. So band boy claims this is from the same leaf as green tea and has caffeine. Hope this perks me up...I mean....I'm going drinking tonight after I walk my mom's dogs!

Ok, I just sipped it and it is still WAAAAAY too hot. Maybe by quittin' time it'll be at the right temperature so I can perk up on my drive.

Is it 5 o'clock yet?

Isn't this the cutest beer tap? I just love snowmen!

Last night I met my mom for dinner at CS. The dynamite shrimp was scrumptious and of course, we both loved our Spicy Cashew Chicken. Several hasher buddies were up there as well having dinner. Fish told me he had Beer League at home and wanted to watch it while having a few beers. But I had to go run one quick errand with my mom. She was looking for a good thermos to take to a tennis tourney. I mentioned the Bubba Kegs that I've seen many hashers and ASSers with and was told they have them at Wal-Mart. So off to the gigantic box store we went. Never found any. Anyone know where the heck you can get them? I'm told they can keep ice overnight.

Upon returning to CS, I'm already getting tired due to staying up late the night before. Timmy and I have one beer while deciding what to do. Then in walk the sisters...Social Retard and Easy Access. Next thing we know, Marisa and Corey are saying they're at the Hideout. So off Timmy and I go to meet up with them. Social joined us after dinner with her sis because she wanted to celebrate. Why, you ask? Wellllll, she was officially invited to interview at the physical therapy school she wants to go to. So we all cheers'd her. She had to get up at 3:45am, so not a lot of partying for her last night. Next off were Corey and Marisa. Timmy used Marisa's famous line, "One more beer!" He called new guy Peter and I thought he was on the way up to the Hideout. So I stayed for one more beer to keep Timmy company until Peter showed up. He never came....but someone else did....Nat!

Here are the pics.

Of wet roads and idiots

Ok, so this morning has been crazy...and a little annoying. Woke up late (Thanks Fish for making me go drinking last night!), took a different way to work since I heard the lights were out at Parmer & IH-35. The direction I chose was a BAD decision. The new extension/toll roads on Mo-Pac have NOT helped me in the slightest bit for getting to work. It is 10 times worse. Now getting home is a different story. That is a breeze due to the extension. But I’m trying to get to work right now….

So the left turn lane off my street onto Mo-Pac is waaaaaaay backed up. I say screw it, I’ll just get in the right lane and get on the frontage road. BAAAAAAAD move. It must have taken me 15-20 minutes just to get close to the light at Parmer and Mo-Pac….one small light away from mine. Finally had to bail trying to merge in order to pass through the light. Made another detour. Parmer to Amherst to Duval, but Duval is waaaaaaay backed up headed towards Mo-Pac. So I hook a U and head in the other direction on Duval towards 183. Since I’m over in the area and already running super late because nobody knows how to drive on wet roads, I pull into Rudy’s. Good God people. You do NOT have to slow down to 30 mph when it’s lightly drizzling outside. Morons. Anyway, back to Rudy’s. Yum yum. I love their breakfast tacos. I decide to put on some good tunes on my iPod. Old school Cory Morrow and old school Everclear. Immediately put me in a good mood and I didn’t care about all the idiot drivers anymore. Just danced in my seat as I drove. So I finally make it to work…took almost one hour. Usually takes me 20 minutes.

I got settled in and noticed a voice mail. It’s from my co-worker. She isn’t feeling well and will be in later. Crap. She runs the Capitol Office. I called the Capitol Office to see if anyone else was in. No answer. Double crap. So I round up the transponder (dealy-bopper that lets you in and out of the parking garage) and my stuff and get back on the wet streets of Austin, where nobody can seem to drive properly! Finally make it downtown and finally get to eat my breakfast!

My co-worker is now here, but I think I’m just gonna stay here the rest of the day. Why waste more of my time driving with all the idiots? Plus, I’m meeting a friend later today to work out at her gym after work, so I might as well just stay here since she works out downtown, right? So it all worked out nicely…even though it seems that my morning was pretty much wasted. :)

Like Auntie like Niece

Oh my goodness. Mia is already following in her Aunt's footsteps!

Ok, just found a quick pic of me that I had on my work computer. Now she just has to get the hand gesture down....Rock On!

My weekend

Had a good past weekend. Saw old friends, made new ones, partied, chilled and watched a couple movies, etc.

On Friday, one of my good buddies from college had a Good Riddance from her job happy hour. Was soooooo good to see some old friends AND I was super stoked for her to get away from the company she worked for. I have many friends there and I'm glad she got out!

Saturday I finally watched Beerfest! I don't think Lesley and ASSer Jeff liked it very much, but I laughed my booty off. :) Later that night, it was my friend's 40th birthday party, so Lesley, Duanette and I went up to the new Opal Divine's to wish him well. We were pretty bored though and barely even got to talk to the birthday boy. So we hopped over to another bar and it was worse! I sucked it up and hung in there for 3 hours. I guess I drank too much during the movie earlier and then while getting ready for the evening, lost my buzz and got super tired. Lame, I know. But there were a bunch of doofus punks at the bar where we went and I didn't feel like being around them. We did run into FU Knave and all of his firemen buddies...but some of his YOUNG friends fall into the previously mentioned category! Didn't take a single picture Saturday night.

On Sunday morning, Lesley and I watched Borat! Wow....super hilarious, super gross, totally not PC movie. Man, 2 naked guys fighting and wrestling was funny, but ewww...hideous to watch. That one guy was huge and hairy and I don't need to see his ass again....especially when it's in Borat's face! Eck.

Cookie!

Ok, so I got a call from my Dad today. He was asking me how my Tex-Mex trip was, etc. Then he asked if "that guy Cookie was there." I said, huh? Then he said that his name was some kind of sweet food. "Oh yeah," he said..."Brownie."

Hahahaha! Cookie is a Wanker!

P.S. So the background story is that my Dad met "Cookie" after last year's Tex-Mex when he picked us up at the airport.

No More Jeans

At my work, we have casual day on Monday. At first I thought it was weird. But I have grown to love it. Who wants the weekend to be over anyway? Besides, Austin hashes on Sundays, so I'm usually out late and barely roll out of bed on Monday morning to make it to work. All I have to do is put my hair in a pony tail, throw on some jeans and my Pumas and I'm off! (and yes, a shirt of some sort) That all stops on January 22. We start manning our Capitol office for the legislative session, so no more jeans. How sad. I actually have to start dressing up more now...that means losing some inches on my hips/waist since all my suits are too small for me right now! Any slow asses out there need a jogging buddy?

On the plus side, I can meet folks for lunch who work downtown! Whoo-hoo!

Tex Mex 2007

Ok, so I'm not gonna go into details about everything...I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. If you want more info, check out Bonesucker's blog or Late Nite's. Just know that I had a GREAT time...and I also came home with more bruises from this hash weekend than any other. Note to self...next time, don't wrestle on the dining room floor!

Ice Day at the Asians' Place!

That's the snow I got on my driveway. I want more!

So yesterday, during my Ice Day, I decided to get out of the house and go have lunch at CS. But before I could back out of my driveway, I had to get rid of some ice. Found my trusty marshmallow roasting stick (which comes up to my waist) and picked at the ice block that formed on the hump of my driveway. Once I made a pathway, it was on to fun times.

Upon arrival, I found that Timmy, C'Em, Vagitarian, new guy Peter and Marisa were hanging out. (Nat was napping!) Next came Michelle Y. and then Glow Worm. We all had some good Thai food and decided it was time to have a few beers...and then it was time for some drinking games. Headed to the private area and played speed quarters. Was a lot of fun, until some non-hashers started coming in for dinner. We needed a quieter game.

We talked to Bonesucker and got her to come up and play with us. Just about that time Marisa said she was hungry for white people food. I then said that I could go for a corndog. BS is awesome because she brought us 3 boxes of State Fair corndogs! Marisa fried 'em up in the kitchen and next thing I knew...I ate 3 of them in a row. DEE-LISH!

We then played F*ck Your Neighbor (thanks to Vag who went to buy cards) and Outburst since BS and Limestone cOW!boy brought up it up with them. Tons o'fun was had in the 7 hours I hung out at CS yesterday. Ahhhh, good times, good times.

p.s. Thanks to the Asians for putting up with us! Hope we didn't scare your new waiter....

Work closed again!!!

Due to the Ice Storm '07 (as the news is calling it), my offices were closed on Monday (didn't matter to me since I was in El Paso), closed again on Tuesday (meant I got to catch up on sleep from Tex Mex Weekend), and now they're closed again Wednesday! Whoo-hoo!

And hey, I even got to see some snow flurries today. Didn't last long since it went back to sleet, but it finally freakin' snowed in Austin, Texas!!!!!!!

Small World!

Sometimes things just work out nicely. If you don't know, well, I've been dog sitting for my mom for almost 3 weeks now. She and my step-dad returned last night. I was supposed to pick them up from the airport...their flight was to land at 11:30pm last night. Got a call from my mom at 9pm my time saying they were still in Denver, hadn't boarded the plane yet due to the pilot having to go through customs. Hellooooo, don't they have an employee line for those who are working?! Anyway, she said they'd be arriving late and she was sorry I'd be staying up even later. Five minutes later she calls back saying I didn't need to pick them up anymore. So I'm thinking they were just gonna cab it? There was no need for that. Nope. They ran into their neighbor who lives 3 houses down. He was on the same flight and had his SUV at the airport and could fit them and their luggage. Whoop!

How random was that? Small world.

Full Moon Hash

So last Thursday I went to the Full Moon hash. It was the Tour de Margarita hash. It started a little early and I had to go walk the dogs and feed them first, then get to the start. So by the time I got to the beginning, they were paying their tabs. blASSt Zone was the hare and it was supposed to rain, so he decided on a picture hash. From a la Carrera we headed down Jollyville to Chuy's, and from there to Antonio's. It was margaritas all around!

We then headed to the On-In, which was held at the home of blASSt Zone and Cumonawanalaya. What was there to great us? More margaritas! But wait...the tequila wasn't quite as good as the previous stuff we had been drinking. This quote I heard should sum it up. "I haven't seen this kind of tequila since college!" Yeah, it was pretty bad. So everyone decided to pop open a beer as a chaser for the ritas.

(Massive) Slut Slinger did a wonderful job as RA. Was a great circle that was super fun and I heard some songs that I hadn't ever heard before. If you didn't go to this Full Moon hash, don't miss the one in February!

Here are the pics.

Thursday, January 04, 2007

I planned on posting this earlier this morning, but our internet and email have both been down ALL DAY LONG! So here goes.......

Well, the New Year brings a new President/CEO to my job. He is a workaholic and arrives to the building early, unlike our previous CEO (whose office is across from mine). So, I am trying to be better about arriving to work on time. Lately, I’ve been slacking and getting here about 8:15…and sometimes even a little later. It never matters because I still beat my boss and the CEO and every single lobbyist that I work with. Not so with the new guy. There is a major all-staff meeting on Monday, the 8th. We will find out exactly how things will be re-organized, etc. I’m told that nobody is really in jeopardy of losing their job, but you still never know. Fortunately, I was officially told yesterday that my job is safe, I will just be reporting to someone new. I had heard rumor of this, but it’s always nice to know for sure!

So I actually woke up an entire hour earlier than I normally do this morning….at 6am. I was set to be on time today and I also wanted to possibly go running or do something active to get me going. I took the dogs out, fed them and then played ball with them for a little bit. It was now 6:25am and still pitch black outside. I didn’t have any reflective clothing at my mom’s house (yes, still dog sitting) and didn’t really feel like starting up running in the dark anyway, so I decided to do a crap load of jumping jacks inside. Many sets of 50 with stretching in between. Yeah, I know it’s not much, but I’m just happy that I was able to get myself outta bed that early. That was a BIG step for me. If the freakin' Gold's Gym lady will call me back, I can set up my auto-draft so I can get back to the gym. Not enough people at work signed up for the Corporate plan, so we were all dropped and have to get signed up individually through our own bank. When does it get lighter outside in the mornings? April??

Anyway, with getting up earlier, I thought I was even going to be able to make breakfast at home. Nope. I can somehow find a way to blow all that extra time….took the dogs on a longer walk, played ball more, spent more time straightening my hair, took out the garbage, etc.

Oh yeah….when did I make it in to work you ask? Well, I pulled up at 8:02am and was inside my office one minute later. I would’ve been early if I hadn’t stopped to pick up breakfast on the way in! Oh well…there’s always tomorrow.

On-On to the Full Moon hash!

Christmas Eve Hash

Well, it never really stopped raining during the Christmas Eve hash, so I didn't take out my camera until we were at the end of trail where there was cover. I mean, it was already barely taking pics. Here are the ones I did take.

X-mas Eve Hash pics.

New shoes!

Funny ass movie

I saw a hilarious movie this weekend. Laughed my ass off. Go see it, or rent it. Seriously. Do it!

I'd like to dedicate this to my grandpa, who showed me these moves.
