Wine and Cheese, M'kay?

After my fun day at the Main Event for team building or whatever, I then went up to Plucker's in Round Rock for the Wednesday special....34 ounce mug o'beer for $3.50. Whoop! Then made a quick stop by Chon Som but didn't see anyone I knew, so I stopped home real quick to change shirts and shoes. Headed over to C'Em's house for some wine and cheese...and wine and more wine. (Sorry Brownie, no boxed wine.) Did I mention how much my head hurt on Thursday?? Guess I should've gone home before 1:30am on a school night!

Seriously...have you ever seen Saran Wrap that looks like a shower cap? Well, my drunkard self thought it was hilarious.

M'kay.....

Team Building at THA

On my first day back at work after Miami, I only had to work 2 1/2 hours. Whoop whoop! It was our Summer Event shindig at the Main Event. I had never been to this place and wasn't sure what to expect. We were told we would be randomly put into teams and that we'd be competing in laser tag, glow golf and bowling. And if you wanted to, you could sign up for rock climbing. I have to say that my favorite part was laser tag, and I was looking forward to that game the least. It was so much fun! Next was the rock climbing, bowling and then golf. OH yeah, my team won the award for the best golf score. Did I mention we were called the Snoop Dogs? Much better than other names like the Precious Pooodles and Mange Mutts. Like our matching shirts? Everyone in the entire association had to wear them. At least we didn't have to buy them...they gave everybody one of them.

I'm up for laser tag again...if anyone ever goes!

Miami was Great!

I won't make you look at a hundred pictures of my niece from my trip to Miami, but I will share some photos.

I love this pic of the fluffy clouds....I took it from the airplane. They just went on forever.

My shadow in the crystal clear water at Key Biscayne.

Mia loves to clean.....anything. She is "cleaning" the sand with that white tank top.

My brother bought this thinking it was a leave-in conditioner. Ummm, hellooooooo. That stuff is for an afro! Can you say Soul Glow!

p.s. It makes your hair flammable, BTW.

The thunderstorms came in Sunday afternoon. Thought the cloud formations were awesome.

Mia found an open can of Slimfast on the night stand.....

Jack got fed sand. Mmm, delicious.

Jack is such a sweetie!

My fam.

Miami was a nice, relaxing vacation. Chilled on some beaches, played in the nice pool at the hotel where my brother works, ate some yummy Cuban food and got to play with my 14 1/2 month old niece. I even worked out some. Can you believe it? My step-mom and I checked out the gym at my brother's hotel. Holy crap, it rocked. Planned on just running for a quick 5 minute warmup on the treadmill before doing weights that morning. Well, each treadmill had it's own TV right on it. Got caught up watching Office Space and next thing I know it had been half an hour. My how time flies when you're having fun. After the workout they had a fruit platter, bowls of nuts and water. Oh yeah, and some cold cucumber towels. I didn't try that though. Maybe next time. Anyway, the weather didn't allow us to hit the beach my last 2 days, but that's what I get for going during the rainy/hurricane season!

It was still good times, good times. :)

Catching Up.....

Ok, so before my trip to Miami I was talking about the S&M Hash. Here are some pics from that trail...

Two of the hares

The nastiest ice cream ever...tamarind and chili!

Looksie who came out to the hash....Just Kristin!
You can see all the pics here. Oh yeah, this trail almost took over as longest trail of the year....but barely missed that mark. Because of this....it took forever. Kristin and I were starving after 4 hours and bolted right before circle to go find some grub other than peanut butter and Cheetos. Or maybe that's because we started drinking so early in the morning at Trudy's, then the roller derby game, then the 183 Plucker's and finally the RR Plucker's. Whatever it was....we scarfed down some pizza. Mmmm, that was just what I needed after a long day of drinking. :)

Doh!

The Simpson's Movie is finally here!
Die mosquitos, die...you Mother F-ers!!!!! I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
How did so many of you bite me in the 30-45 seconds it takes to walk from the parking lot at work to the building? Seriously!

P.S. I went to Walgreens to buy some anti-itch cream and when I returned to my office and lifted my leg onto the desk to apply the cream, a mosquito was on my leg! Go suck someone else you MoFo!!! My legs already look like crap from poison ivy, ant bites, scars, scratches and bruises.

Make it stop....

Guess I had too much wine last night at the housewarming shindig I went to because my head is still killing me! (Sorry Brownie, it wasn't from a box.)
That Mother Plucker mug o'beer I had beforehand might not have helped too much either. Hee hee hee.....

blah, blah, blah...drink for whining....I know.....

What a way to return from vacation.....

We come in to work for 2 1/2 hours, then take off for an off-site work event. The new CEO wants us to have some team bonding, kumbaya moral boosting thing. We will be going to this place. I've never been before, but hey, if it gets me out of the office that's cool with me! Too bad it won't be like Dell's off site events....they have alcohol.....

Anyway, I heard we will draw for random teams and will then compete in bowling, laser tag and glow golf. I wonder if we will get to try out the climbing wall?

To the pink chick on my flight this morning.....

There is a reason those arm rests are in between seats on an airplane. Do NOT push them back and make one big seat! I don't know who the hell you think you are, but I don't want you encroaching into my area. I mean, I was already crammed against the window as much as possible. Keep your hot pink jacket, pink blanket, pink phone, pink gameboy and pink iPod AWAY from me, you freak!

Of Mexi Marts, Roller Chicks and Whips

This past weekend was full of activities. After visiting my old college buddies to check out their 3rd little boy (who was born 5 weeks early), I had to do some laundry for my trip. Ended up getting talked into bowling. Orrrr, should I say, drinking at the bowling alley. We never actually bowled!

Learned a new shot. Called something like a Chalele. (pronounced like Sha-lay-lay) It is half Jameson and half chilled Bailey's. Yummy!

Next up was dinner at Chon Som and then we had to bolt to Cindie's before they closed. This is some new sex shop we needed to hit up to get some gear for the S&M hash the following day. I ended up with a little Whip and Tickle, Elvis got a looooong whip and Hippie found a great outfit that you'll see later on....

Sunday morning we decided to all meet up at Trudy's for brunch before the Roller Derby game. Of course we started drinking at brunch.....delicious Mexican Martinis. Oh yeah baby, this was gonna be a long day.

We got to the game just after noon and hit the introductions of the teams. Pretty funny to see in person since I'd only seen the league that was on TV (and was filmed in Austin). Since this was a rec league, it was BYOB. Beer and vodka 7's were next up. While there, I ran into one of my brother's good friends that I hadn't seen in years. He was rooting for one of the Jammers on our friend's team, The Homewrecker Hussies. Small world! Oh yeah, and our team won!

Here is our friend, Luscious Dutchess.

And some random guy's funny sign.

After the game we headed over to the 183 Plucker's for some $2 shots since we were right next to it. Let's just say that it rocks when there is a bartender in training and you are with Plucker's folks!

We still had some time to kill, but ONE couple didn't pack their hash attire. So we all ran home real quick ( I forgot my spare battery in the charger) and then met up at the Round Rock Plucker's for more drinks before the hash. Dang, this was gonna be a long day! Nikki's Juice sure is good on a hot summer day. After our drinks it was off to the BDSM Hash up in Round Rock. Damn, that was a long one! Think they were trying to break the longest hash trail record of 10.1 miles. More on that hash later....It's 1am here in Miami and we are getting up early in the morning for a full day of fun in the sun.

Ciao!

P.S. For those who don't know, I'm on vacation...visiting my brother.

Countdown to Miami....

Only 2 more days and I get to see this little bugger! I can't wait since the last time I saw her she wasn't even walking yet. Now she is running and climbing on everything.

Her current favorite toy....laundry!

And I get to play on Miami Beach with Mia too! Apparently, she loves the water and loves it when the waves hit her.

Suckin' wind!

So, I have some friends that have been doing this Bikini Boot Camp thing for a while now. One of them got so good at it that she now coaches it. I finally dragged my lazy bum out to a class. I actually thought the new session started today, but turns out it was Monday. Oh well.

This boot camp showed me just how out of shape I am. Wow. I knew I've been a slacker lately, but damn. It really kicked my butt and I didn't really enjoy it while I was doing it, but about 30 miniutes afterwards I felt great and was really happy I did it. Was kind of funny because I have 3 other friends in the class...one kept asking me if I was having fun yet and my reply was always, "NO!" They asked if I would come back and I first I didn't want to because I was sucking major wind. But what good would that do me? Gotta push myself. So yes, I will be back next Monday and Tuesday. Then I'm on vacation and will miss 3 sessions. But after that I will make all 3 each week! Yaaaaay Boot Camp!

Lady Bird

Lady Bird Johnson passed away yesterday in her home in Austin. I remember visiting the LBJ Ranch as a child and the Wildflower Center when I was older. Both are beautiful places. Next time you are driving down Mo-Pac and notice how nice it is to not have to look at a bunch of billboards, thank Lady Bird. And when you see the beautiful bluebonnets and other flowers growing on the side of highways, thank her again.

I was unaware that she led the campaign in the 70's to clean up the shoreline and create a trail around Town Lake...and was responsible for the flowering trees along that hike and bike trail. Remember that next time you go for a run down there.

Widespread Panic - July 8

Ok, so once trail had finished and Elvis got his 100 Runs mug, it was time to head out to the show. Vag had scored 4 free tickets because some people she knew came in town just to go see Widespread...two nights in a row. Well, Friday night was cancelled, but all of those peeps could attend the Sunday night show. Seeing as their plane ticket was for Sunday afternoon, they couldn't go.

We first met up with Vag's friend Chris at Chon Som and all piled into one car. At the front gates of The Backyard, they REALLY looked inside my purse this time. At the 311 concert they just peeked inside, did a quick pat down on me and voila...I was in....with my camera. You'd think they'd only outlaw professional cameras, but they said NONE. Did I mention that I saw folks with cameras inside on the 4th EVERYWHERE? Maybe they were looking for drugs at the WP show because she pulled everything out of my purse. She saw the camera inside my koozie and made me take out the battery. I hid it behind a bush on a rock by the front gates. Little did that bee-atch know....I had a spare! Guess I should've put it in my cargo pocket like last time. Oh well.

So we listened to some music, ate a chopped BBQ sandwich, listened some more and then decided we were ready to go. We were the only 4 folks on the shuttle bus and we befriended the driver, Brian. He was quite amusing...and cool. He pulled into a gas station so we could go buy beer for our ride to our cars....the long 3 minute ride. Then someone joked about how he should be playing porn on the TVs....next thing we know, he pulls out a DVD. We pop it in and whammy....porn! Only got through one scene before we were pulling up to our cars. So he gave us the DVD. I think Teen Fanny ended up with it. Oh Lesley......

Buying beer....

Anyways, it was good to see Widespread in person...and to know I don't care to go again! Guess I'm just not a jam band kind of chick. At least I remembered to go grab my hidden camera battery when we left. Yay!

Fish & C'Em's Trail - July 8

Ok, so I had originally planned on running this hash. BUT, on Saturday I got a call from Vagitarian...she had some free tickets to the Widespread Panic show that Sunday. How could I pass up a free concert? Not knowing how long trail would be and if we'd be back at our cars in time, we decided to auto-wank. I wouldn't have even gone at all because I had a crap load of stuff to do at home, but I knew that Elvis was getting his 100 runs mug. Had to get some photos of that memorable moment! I mean, it only took him 7 years. :)

The Hares
