Change of plans

I am no longer going to San Antonio this weekend. It got switched to next weekend since the husband won't be down there until then. Gotta see him as well, considering they are moving to freaking South Africa!

So, making it to the BTS concert this Sunday will be much easier. Yay! But now I have to scout trail tomorrow since I won't be around next weekend. (except for the TSO concert on Friday)
That St. Paddy's Day trail is coming up quickly....
Happy Leap Day!

La Musica!

Got my 2nd free glass last night at the Saucer. Woot woot! Slowly, but surely creating a beer pint glass collection to go with my current pint glasses (which have sports teams or other random things on them).

Tonight I'm headed to The Parish Room to see The Story Of. Alex says they go on at 9pm. I'm gonna try to show up around 8pm-ish.

Bitch is the New Black!

I don't care who you're voting for...I just think Tina Fey is freaking hilarious!

Watch this SNL clip.

And Huckabee was quite amusing as well (even though I don't care for him). His SNL clip is here.

CRAP! Just discovered they removed Tina's clip from YouTube. ARGGHH!!!

The Black Lips...Jump around!

Had dinner Saturday night at Chon Som. Chief was still in town and we were trying to show him a good time. Ordered a bucket O'Lone Star and had some delicious Sxul Chocolate Vodka (thanks Trojan!) Holy crap, that is some good stuff. Apparently you are supposed to sip it, but I enjoyed shooting it out of a sake glass much better. Maybe that's what put me in such a great mood for the shows later that night? Squeef and Trojan bailed on the music, but Chief, Squeezin and I had a blast!

Headed down to Emo's to check out some live music. The Austin Chronicle recommended the Black Lips, so Squeezin suggested we check them out. Glad we did! He has a good write-up. Click here for his version of the evening (since he was the driver and recalls more). I didn't even remember seeing 3 bands, but I guess that's because we sat in the outdoor area because we didn't care for one band.

I must say that I hadn't had that much fun at a concert in a long time. I was jumping all around and having a blast, even though I had never heard of any of their songs. I'm sure the rambunctious crowd had something to do with it. Well, that and all the chocolate vodka!

Read this review of their show. Gives you a pretty good idea of what we experienced. I've also read that these guys usually involve nudity, barfing and urination during their shows...none of that was seen during the Austin show though.

You can see my pics here. If they play in your town, I suggest you go see them!

The Saucer Again!

Returned to the Saucer last Friday night for a big hash happy hour. I haven't seen that many hashers at a Friday HH in ages. Guess being easier to get to helps. Sorry LJ's, I will return soon...like maybe Sunday before the BTS concert!

So back to Friday....I left work early and found SMB and Padre there...with laptops. Must be nice to work from a bar! Soon after, more and more folks started showing up. Too many names to remember so just check out the pics! Although, Chief Wounded Wiener was in town and was ready to party. Friday was pretty tame, but Saturday was a freakin' blast!

Trojan went all out and bought a round of Jager shots for the entire table. Woot woot!

Baby G and Sarah (Ball Magnet/Miss New Booty) showed up for her last Texas HH.

We ended up moving the party to Billy's on Burnet later on, then called it a night. I made up for my lameness on Friday by going all out on Saturday night!

All the pics from Friday are here.

My 1st Free Glass Night

Last Wednesday I went to my first free glass night at the Flying Saucer. Met my old non-hasher friend Brian up there quite early so we could make sure we got a table. Soon after, Rolando showed up. After pilates class, Margaret and Tricia stopped by as well. Was really good to see Mags again...it's been too long! She was my college roommate and works super close to me, but we rarely see each other anymore.

Was there from 5:45-11:15pm...work the next day wasn't too fun, but Wednesday sure was!

Just Say No to VD Hash pics

Forgot to post these from 2 Sundays ago. We had two namings....Just Alan is now Mind Your Bitch! And Just Ben (who was a virgin hasher) was named Andre the Mangina. Too bad we didn't know that he works for Swingers.com and films porn beforehand!

You can see the pics here.

B.T.H.O.tu!

Tonight is another Lone Star Showdown. Gig 'Em Aggies!

All greenbelt, baby

Yesterday's Austin hash started in the greenbelt, continued on through the greenbelt, and ended in the greenbelt. Good times! It was a nice 5 mile trail with one beer check in the middle. Well, nice once we all figured out the clusterf*ck of checks and back checks pretty close to the start.

I hope to upload pics during lunch, so more later. But we did have 2 namings!

Recruit, recruit, recruit!

On Friday I decided to finally check out this new Flying Saucer place since some hashers were having a happy hour there. It's quite close to my work and much easier to get to than Lovejoy's (until we move downtown on April 28!). I was the first to arrive...no tables available anywhere. So I decided to hang by the bar. Met this girl named Christine who was also waiting for her friends. We started chatting and I told her about the hash. She seemed quite interested and mentioned that her roommate Tess was a trail runner. Christine is more of a mountain biker, but I think they will both be checking out the hash in the near future.

Once TAF, SMB, Padre, Liz, Pornarotti and Two Drinks arrived, we told "#7" to go work his magic and get us a table. He actually scored us a big table in the corner, so off we went.

I closed out my tab and was thinking of heading home, when I ran into some non-hasher friends. Chatted with them for a bit and I now have a standing happy hour drinking buddy for Wednesdays! You see, the Saucer gives away cool glasses every Weds...each week there is a different one, but you have to get there early to put in your order. Check out some previous ones here.

Then those friends left and I continued to chat with my new friends. Oh yeah, I found out that one guy has actually hashed in California before. I forget which kennel. Something about near some Marine base to the East of LA. I'll keep you posted if they actually show up to a hash!

VD

Last night I went to see this chick flick with Kristin. I really liked it...of course, I love romantic comedies. And what's not to love about watching this guy for 2 hours on a huge screen?! (I apparently also like shoot 'em up, grotesque horror flicks too, as seen from my previous post!)

Then, when I got home I discovered my mom had secretly stopped by my place to drop off a Valentine's gift. Two huge balloons and a super soft, super cuddly teddy bear. Know what my first thought was? Oh crap, she saw my extremely unorganized, messy house! I'm a retard.

On another note....55 minutes and I'm on my way to happy hour at the Saucer...for my very first time!!! Can I get a What What??

My butt was vibrating....

On Wednesday I finally experienced the awesome home theater of Just Carl and Uniporn. Holy hell, that place rocks! They have a gigantic screen...like you are really at a theater. Eight reclining seats with drink holders. Excellent sound system. And when the action gets loud and crazy on the screen, the seats vibrate to the sound. Whoo-hoo!

After a delicious dinner cooked by Just Carl, we watched Grindhouse. It's a double feature of Planet Terror (by Robert Rodriguez) and Death Proof (by Quentin Tarantino). How can you not like a movie where a chick gets her leg amputated and then ends up with a machine gun for a leg? Good times. Well, maybe not for the others around me...I'm quite jumpy and screamed many times!

Oh yeah, and it even starts off with a trailer for a fake movie called Machete. Which, Uniporn says they are actually making it into a real movie now! Too funny. In Death Proof and the Machete trailer, you will recognize several spots around Austin too. Pretty cool.

8:30 is the new 8:00

Every day since I've returned from vacation, I've been late to work. I just can't seem to pull myself out of bed. I used to just snooze about 1-2 times...lately it's been for an entire hour! I guess I just love being back in my super-duper comfy bed, instead of curled up in a ball, under the blanket like a cocoon because I'm freezing, on a tiny couch in Colorado.

I don't even care about coming in late because as I see it, I will be quitting sometime this year....so what does it matter??

Who's with me for BTS and TSO?!

Built to Spill is playing at Stubb's on March 2. Yes, I know it's a hashing day....But this band rocks! Tickets are only $20 (plus service charge).

I know many of you saw them at the ACL Festival a couple of years ago and really liked them. So come on out! The Meat Puppets are opening up too. Good times.

Check out their web site above, or listen to some clips on their myspace.

p.s. My co-worker's band is playing on Thursday, Feb 28 if anyone is interested in that show as well. Their myspace is here.

SMB & Dick's 20th Hashaversary

What a great way to return to the Austin Hash. I had missed the last 5 due to being sick or being out of town at other hashes/vacation. Yesterday was the 20th Hashaversary for She Mussel Bitch and Dick the Boy Wonder. I had a blast! Who doesn't love a beer check at a bar with live music??

After the long circle, some of us headed to the Mean Eyed Cat for the On-After. Became a fan of the band that was playing. My Plucker's friends were there to see this band...and Munson knows the lead singer so he introduced me. Can I get a What What?!

Fish and I stopped by Taco Cabana on the way home and I was in bed by 10:30pm...but it felt like 2am. Good times!

Pics to follow....

Colorado Part 4: Sunday

Sunday morning took us to brunch at the Omelette Parlor. Only one of us got an omelette though! I napped after that and then was a bum until it was time to go watch the Super Bowl. Spent the afternoon loading music onto my laptop.

Wasn't really in party mode at all. The game was quite boring too. Well, until the end of the 4th quarter. And that's about when I started to feel better and finally started drinking again. The beer I had during the 1st quarter didn't taste good at all. Ended up bar hopping after the game. Saw some awesome music at the Ancient Mariner...it was Acid Jazz night. Those musicians are talented! Oh yeah...and there was a bar fight. I've never seen so many cop cars and firetrucks called out for a scuffle between 4 out of town dudes. Pretty funny. Ended up being a great little evening, hitting several of the local bars in Manitou.

You can see the pics from Sunday here.

Colorado Part 3: Saturday

I was woken up quite early on Saturday morning....7:01am...by Nuthin' But Net. He was all hyper and in the mood to party. Don't know how he was that wired since he came straight from working an overnighter. That boy has skillz. Anyway, I had only changed into half of my pj's from the night before...just the pants. Kept on my shirt...Net thought I looked like a ninja in all black. And since glass had been broken in the bathroom earlier, I was wearing flip flops...with my socks on. Net made me show some ninja moves. I don't really have any, so I just kept laughing and laughing and fell over. Still intoxicated from the night before? Perhaps.

Why I thought that horseshoe was like a throwing star is anybody's guess.

Folks started showing up for the hash a little later. Jello shots for all! Think we finally got started about 10am. Good trail with gorgeous scenery. And C-4 even came out to hash. She totally rocks!!! (She is pregnant, in case you didn't know.)

Eating snow!

The beer check location rocked, mutha fucka!

It's a mini-cave...

Z had his horns sawed off! Hahahaha!

To get the "retard" patch, you have to wear granny panties on trail....and also have to lead "Swing Low" with your pants around your ankles.

We barely made it to the start of the parade on time since circle was long and fun.

The parade was tons o'fun. Brownie, Katie and I would walk and throw out beads, then see a bar and make a beeline for it...to do Jager shots. We did that at each bar we passed. Good times!

You're gonna have to look at the rest of the pics on Kodakgallery. Having problems loading them now. For some reason they are all out of order on my laptop. And I HATE for my pics to not be in chronological order! I have no idea what happened to them and it is taking too long to search for the ones I want. Damn, that pisses me off.

Know what's really funny? After taking a nap after the parade and partying, Brownie and I went back out for round 2! People were still out having a great time. Well, everyone except our friends. Guess most of them didn't take power naps, so they were down for the count by the time we went out again. Oh well...their loss. I just remembered this....they called last call at the Townhouse Lounge and somehow we had about 6 drinks in front of us with barely any time to drink them. Somehow we got most of them down. Brownie had to do the hurricanes because they were STRONG. The Keg was the only other bar open, so we headed there on the way home. Some chicks came in with a blow up chick doll. (Shouldn't that have been a guy doll?) Anyways, be sure you check out the pics because Brownie performed oral sex on the doll! Hahahaha!

You can see all of the pics from Saturday here.

I'm Fucking Matt Damon!

OMG! I just saw this on DNA's blog. Watch it...especially if you like Sarah Silverman or Matt Damon. Too funny.

WTF happened last night? Seriously. My right butt cheek HURTS! Only a small bruise, but it's painful. Did I fall? Did someone spank me/slap me really hard? If so, I don't recall any of that. I guess when you arrive early for a team meeting and then close the place down, all sorts of crap is gonna go down. That was 8.5 hours of drinking....on a school night. BFC is back!!!

Colorado Part 2: Friday

Friday night was MeatGazer's birthday dinner at a sushi place. But they also had Benihana type food....thank goodness, because I hate fish! Met some of her non-hasher friends who were quite entertaining. Too bad they didn't go bar hopping after dinner with us because they were making me laugh non-stop!
Tonka's very first sake bomb. Notice all the shit that fell over on the table. He doesn't know how to bang lightly.

Clint used his chopsticks for everything...including ice cream!

$1 to make you holla!

Phil (my nuts) and Clint, watching "What What in the Butt" for the 1st time...and loving it!

The birthday girl with her man (and walking stick).

We were a little late to Brownie's pub crawl, but that was fine with us because they all looked pretty bored at the first bar when we arrived. On on to the 2nd bar and the fun began.

At the pub crawl.

Fun at the outdoor arcade.

What What Tonka Butt?!

The birthday girls.

Jew curl!

I still don't know why we love bathrooms while drunk.

2 of my favorite peeps!

Drunkard. How did I fall again??

Me, with the big cleavage chicks. I needed some help!

Group shot.

Friday was an awesome time. I had a blast and laughed my ass off. Too bad we stayed out so late because Nuthin But Net was coming over at 7am on Saturday morning to start drinking...and the Kimchi Hash wasn't beginning until 9am!

You can see all of Friday's pics here.

Colorado: Part 1: Weds & Thursday

Last Wednesday I bolted from work a tad early and headed to the airport. My vacation didn't start off well... You see, as my plane was speeding down the runway, the freaking cabin door popped open! WTF?? Part of your job is to secure the door and you forget to lock it properly? Holy shit. So we had to wait for the pilots to read the manual to make sure they didn't F-up the brakes and then get back in line to takeoff.

But as you can see, I made it safely to Colorado and back home again.

Took it easy the first night. Brownie, Katie and I went to Old Chicago to start my mini-tour of Bristol beers. I had 3 of the required 8 (to get the T-shirt).
All the pics from Wednesday can be seen here.

Thursday morning I got my very first Clean Plate Club sticker at the Purple Castle. Well, first one that I actually earned! It's now on my Kimchi mug. What What!

Brownie only worked 1/2 a day, so we hit up Old Chicago again and I had 2 more of the beers on the mini-tour. Unfortunately, that was the last time I made it to OC, so no mini-tour T-shirt for me. Oh well.

What does No Trespassing mean?? ;)

Starting the long hike up the Incline...

Gorgeous views.

But since I am slow and out of shape, it took me 50 minutes just to get half way! And by then it was getting dark. So I took the Barr trail down and went to Kinfolk's for some delicious PBR...in a bottle! I've never seen that before. Oh yeah...did I mention that I totally ate it while hiking down the mountain? Couldn't see the ice patch in the dark. Two feet went forward and I landed on my ass. Nice.

After getting cleaned up, we headed to the bars of Manitou. MeatGazer and I Like Your Boobs joined us as well.

I LOVE MEAT!!!

Why Shock her when you can Spock her?!

Jason is the coolest bartender!

Some Snowdown folks joined us on their way to Durango.

Not sure why we left the bars. Maybe they were all closing? So we went back to Brownie's place. That's when the Carolina Trash guys found all of the syringe jello shots. Uh-oh...you can't make them 2 days early! Sorry Katie...but seriously! So we all went to town on them....

It's also fun to shoot them from across the room into your mouth...

The boys decided to tape all the shots we did across Brownie's bedroom door...

What a great day! You can see all of Thursday's pics here.
