Blonde Geometry

Need a mid-week chuckle??

Blonde Geometry:

Attached is problem 3 on a geometry examination. It is the solution submitted by a beautiful blonde student. It is our understanding that after careful scrutiny, the student was given credit for the answer by the teacher. When hearing of this the Board of Education warned math teachers to be more explicit in the wording of examination problems but was hesitant to suggest how.

Out-of-shape, can’t run on roads slacker

Ok, so I’m tired of bitching about how some of my clothes don’t fit anymore. I’m finally ready to do something about it! Yesterday, I was all set to go to the gym straight from work and then go directly to Chon Som to help out. Well, as luck would have it, I had a project come up late in the day that kept me at work until 6pm. A little before then, I was already getting hungry for dinner, so I ate some leftovers from lunch. Of course, this made me not want to go run at the gym just yet.

So, I decided to go home, park my car and run to Chon Som. I’ve clocked it before…it’s 1.4 miles from my driveway to Chon Som. So there and back would almost be 3 miles. Now, you may not know this, but I haven’t been running much lately…at all. And I wouldn’t classify what I do as running….I’m a jog/walker. I know people that can run 2 miles in the time it takes me to run one. I lost all the endurance I used to have. Gotta build it back up again if I’m gonna run that ½ marathon in December. [I don’t want to hear it Brownie…that’s a long distance for slacker Jen!] Besides scouting and laying trail this month, I’ve only gone jogging once! Man, I’ve got to get my ass in gear if I don’t want the Colorado altitude and mountains to kick my booty during Invihash…..

Anyway, back to my ramblings…I made it to Chon Som with a beet red face [it was HOT out] and some aching ankles…just not used to running on roads just yet. I downed some water and then began to help out the crew. I think I counted 10 hashers that showed up last night to help. So awesome! Plus, the 2 contract guys and Marisa’s Thai friends who brought us a delicious dinner. It was a full house. After about 2 hours I noticed that the sun had almost gone down, so it was time for my jog back home. By then the temperature had dropped and there was a nice breeze…such a nice time of night.

Now let’s see how long I can keep this up! I want to try to meet Lesley and Rafael during the week to run since I don’t know the Greenbelt at all. Hopefully I can keep up with them! Leslo? Raf? What nights do you usually go and what time??

This morning I woke up and actually felt great and was energized for the morning. Such a nice feeling. :)

P.S. I caught the end of a movie I like last night on HBO…Field of Dreams. Doesn’t matter how many times I watch it…I always get all teary eyed! Maybe it’s because it reminds me of my own brother and dad.....

P.P.S. I know I skipped over this weekend's festivities. I'll get to that later. Got some funny pics from Cheaper's party!

KLBJ HH Cruise & Mean-Eyed Cat pics

Ok, so you know how my friend won a free happy hour party boat cruise around Town Lake last week. Here is the scoop on what went down. SOCIAL RETARD and I arrived WAY too early. We were told to be there no later than 5:15pm by Tricia, the happy hour winner. KLBJ had told her to be there no later than 5:30pm, so she had padded the arrival time to allow for late folks...but we got there before Tricia's time. We realized we were the first people to arrive....even beat the radio peeps. Decided to get a drink at the hotel bar since the Capital Cruise folks told us the boat didn't leave until 6pm. [The boats are docked right outside of the Hyatt.] Soon after, all of Tricia's friends showed up. About 5:40pm we decided it was time to go check in. Still no sign of Charlie Hodge, but another KLBJ guy was there trying to set everything up. I was happy to hear that we wouldn't be eating the "Hyatt's semi-famous BBQ." I mean, that just made me laugh when I read it on the web site. The BBQ came from some other joint...I swear he said the place was called Rick James BBQ. I googled it and came up with nothing though. Anyway, they had it rolled up in tortillas and it was absolutely delicious...even without BBQ sauce. [Radio guy spilled it in the parking lot!] Yum Yum.

It was time to get our drink on while we waited for the other happy hour winner and guests to arrive. We waited past 6pm but nada. The other winner was a no-show. This was a bummer because we [Lesley, Lauren and I] were looking forward to meeting some new folks...especially single guys! Oh well...time to party on our own. So the boat took off and we downed many, many free Dos Equis beers. Charlie's friend Russ was pretty funny. And, he was heading off to Amsterdam the next day and hadn't packed a thing...but he couldn't pass up a free happy hour!

We cruised pretty far down Town Lake and then turned around to head back to the dock. We didn't want the party to end, but the boat was booked for freaking bat sightseers, so we had to get off the boat as soon as it docked. We did manage to take our time and grabbed a lot of the extra beer that was left over since the other winner didn't show up. Some of our partygoers went to watch the bats, but Leslo, Lauren and I decided to head out.

On our way to Lesley's house, we decided to hit up the Mean-Eyed Cat. I had never been there and no idea where it was. Turns out, it's right across from El Arroyo on 5th Street. I've even parked in their parking lot to go to a happy hour at El Arroyo before! And I thought I paid attention to details....

Anyway, it's a very cute, small little bar with a Johnny Cash theme. We hd a great time there playing fun songs on the jukebox and chatting with the cool bartender. I will definitely go back soon!

I've been trying to load some pictures tonight, but it's not working! So you're gonna have to view all of them on Kodakgallery!

So, here are the pics!

Fish's B-day Hash & Darin's B-day Hash

I don't think I ever posted pics from DAY OLD FISH'S birthday, nor blASSt Zone's birthday hash. So here they are. I wasn't able to meet up with Fish's trail until the last beer check. That is where we met JUST DAVID, the cyclist. He knew about hashing and saw our trail markings while biking around Walnut Creek Park. He actually rode the hash trail twice, hoping to run into us. And he finally found us! He continued on to the finish and even went to the On-On-On with us. I bet he will be back. Now, if I could only remember why I got on the ground at the Hideout Pub to take pictures of some guy's skater shoes.....

Pics from Fish's b-day trail are here.

Last Sunday was blASSt Zone's birthday trail...and it was totally awesome! Ok, so I was a hare...guess I'm a little biased. :) Anyway, it was a LONG, but great day...as I mentioned under the Darinpalooza post.

Free Floating HH Cruise around Town Lake

A friend of mine won a happy hour cruise around Town Lake from KLBJ...and it's tonight! And it all stemmed from 2 pictures I took of her at a 4th of July pool party. Whoo-hoo! Free beer and free BBQ.

Sorry BFC, but I'm gonna miss your game tonight. Sorry SMB...gonna miss your B-day HH at Rover's.

We think this beer pic won it for her

Darinpalooza!

I added links to some pictures at the bottom.

Wow...Darinpalooza 2006 rocked! Five days of fun. It's amazing I made it in to work today! You know you've had tons o'fun when you leave your house at 10pm on a Friday night and don't see your place again until 7:10am Monday morning!

We partied after scouting trail on Wednesday and began to celebrate blASSt Zone's b-day, Thursday was happy hour time, Friday was the Big 3-0 party, Saturday was sailing all day and then dinner on the lake at Aunt Tilly's, Sunday morning we laid the trail and then it was time for the hash...which was awesome. Many people told us that they loved our trail! After dinner [thanks to JUST JAMIE for giving us all those extra wings and to ELVIS for hauling them over]and circle, we headed over to our beloved Burnet Road dive bar, The Poodle Dog Lounge, for some Sunny Sweeney since that's what the birthday boy wanted. A good time was had by all!

Oh yeah, and we finally got JUST BARBARA [Babsie] named.....BACK DOOR BITCH!

The pics from the Darinpalooza Party on Friday are here. The sailing and hash photos to come later...

Pictures from Darinpalooza Sailing on Saturday are here.

Happy Hours Galore

Yesterday was jam packed with goodness. It all started at B.B. Rover's for Darin's 30th birthday happy hour. Hung out with them for a couple of beers...the Thursday regulars were there, as well as a bunch of other folks due to the birthday boy. It was the biggest showing I've ever seen at Rover's. My next stop was Bone Daddy's for a pre-softball game HH with Ryan and Albert. I also ran into MINNESOTA BUTTHOLE at the bar while he was waiting for his friend to arrive.

After Bone Daddy's it was time to head straight to the softball fields where more beer was consumed. While hanging out after the game in the stands, I got a call from a friend who was going to be passing through town on his way home. He wanted to grab a beer and I was ready to continue the festivities. We were going to meet at Plucker's since the softball gang was going there, but immediately after that call, FREE MEAT called to say she was at Graffiti's. Now this bar is 1 minute from my condo, so I chose this option.

Upon arriving at Graffiti's I was greated by FREE MEAT, BABY G, STRAP-ON ELVIS, LIMESTONE COWBOY, CARLOS and I PEE FREELY. CORNHOLIO was there as well, right? Damn my memory when I drink and don't eat dinner! Finally TICKET MASTER arrived and we partied there until closing time, which is midnight. But Joe let us hang out for a little while longer.

A few of us weren't ready to stop partying, so we went to my place since I had some beer and Tito's available. Somehow the time passed quickly because next thing I know, it's after 3am! Holy hell fire...and it was only Thursday...and I have a birthday party to go to this evening. Sure hope I have time for a nap before the fun begins later tonight!!!

Marisa is the only one who had her camera, so I'll have to get those pics from her later. And maybe I'll post the 4th of July festivities this weekend...but it's gonna be a busy one! Everyone come out to the hash this Sunday because I'm one of the hares. :)

33 minutes and counting.....

Baby Showers & Hashwarmings

On Saturday, June 24, I attended a baby shower for a good friend of mine...Ellen. She is not a hasher, but the shower was held at the home of some hashers...the Keever's...so you know fun was bound to occur. After chatting, eating, guessing who everyone was in their baby photos, opening of presents and many glasses of wine, the shower came to an end. Soon after, the boys arrived back at the house: Darin, Hovis, Little Cooper and Sammy. We hung out on their back patio and I got attacked by mosquitos. Why do they love me so much?! Even with tons of mosquito repellant, they always find me first. Damn you bugs!

Four of us then ended up at my mom's house. She was out of town, so we used her hot tub...can't let it sit there all ignored, can we?!

The next day was STRAP-ON ELVIS & (MASSIVE) SLUT SLINGER'S Housewarming Hash.

Beer Check #2

CORNHOLIO didn't like his award

Circle was held about a block away from their new house, so everyone went over for brisket, snacks, more beer and hot tubbin'. PORK MY P*SSY brought a virgin who spins fire...he performed multiple times, to my delight. I had never seen a fire spinner and it was totally awesome. Now I know what BOULDER HOLDER was talking about!

Several folks beat the record of how many people they could fit into the hot tub at one time...16 to be exact. (I think they are actually at 17 folks now.) I ended up staying way too late and was super-tired at work on Monday, but hey...I had a blast!

Here are the pics.

Mosquito Hash – June 17

3rd post today...I'm on a roll....

So on the morning of Saturday, June 17, I headed to Brenham to meet up with WET SPOT and ROLLIN’ NUTLESS. We then all piled into one car and drove to Katy for the Mosquito Hash’s 2nd Analversary Run. Lots of folks showed up…they had visitors from Austin, Brenham, San Antonio, Killeen, College Station and Houston. The gimme was a tie dyed pillow case. Very cute!

Well, being in Houston and all….it became hot and muggy very quickly. We took off onto trail about 10-12 minutes after DONUT HOLER left for his live lay. The 1st check was quite close and they had jello shots. Yum yum. While on trail later on, a large group of us lost trail for a while and we were totally lost…dripping in sweat. It was so bad that my sun block was running into my eyes causing them to burn. But with a sweaty tank top, there was nothing dry to wipe them with. Argh! At least we were in some shiggy to block the sun. We finally stumbled upon trail and made it to the 2nd beer check where I splashed water in my face…ahhh, refreshing. We were then sent on through neighborhoods and eventually ended up at DONUT and CRACK OF DAWN’S house, even though they had said over and over again that it wasn’t ending there.

I made a beeline for the food table first…was starving. Then found the kegerator and then it was time to hose off my legs and change clothes. During circle the Mosquito Hash announced who was in charge of what duty for the 2007 Texas Interhash, visitors were introduced, the Pooper Bowl award was given to the Runner-Up since the winner did not make an appearance and then some accusations were made. After circle we continued to party at DONUT’S house and were treated to 3 smoked briskets. Now, I have several friends who are grillin’ and smokin’ masters, but I must say that this was the absolute best brisket I have ever had in my entire life. Extremely tender, super-moist and very flavorful. Oh my god, I could not get enough of it! I ate and ate and ate and ate…….

WET SPOT soon gathered some of us in the garage and she put on the “Please Pass the Schnapps” song. But this time we passed around Jager.

After a few rounds of the Schnapps song, it was getting to be about that time, so we piled into ROLLIN’S car and headed back to Brenham to crash out.

Here are the pics.

CoTex Day 3 – Sunday

Oh my goodness...2nd post in one day. Am I finally gonna catch up on posting my pics??

I woke up early again on Sunday and made my way over to the main area to grab some breakfast. I actually think I woke up a little drunk. Decided that I wasn’t ready for the weekend to be over so I made myself one last vodka & 7. Jennifer’s Dad was ready to continue drinking as well, so he got the last of the vodka. Yes, he was still hanging out with everyone…he hadn’t gone home since after the pub crawl on Friday night. I then hung out with my new Albuquerque friends by the keg that was still tapped. They are so much fun! They were trying to clean up and pack and eventually had to untap the remaining keg. I got the honors of receiving the last pour before it was officially untapped (Yay!) and CoTex VII came to an end. :(

The remaining ABQ folks

My roadtrip crew

We said our final goodbyes and took our final photos and then DUST BALLS, WET SPOT and I piled into the car for the drive back to El Paso. But we first gave Jennifer's Dad and his puppy a ride home to his friend's house first. He also scored on all the leftover items in our fridge...beer, oranges, etc. Apparently, Lindsey lives about 1 minute from Dan Dee Cabins.
After finishing my mug of beer, I slept most of the way back. Thanks for driving Dusty!

Goodbye New Mexico!

Here are the final pics from CoTex. What a great weekend!

Oh yeah, and Jonathan/Jennifer's Dad loved hashing soooo much, he wants to get a group started in Ruidoso. We'll have to check back later and see if anything develops....

CoTex Day 2 - Saturday

I woke up fairly early on Saturday morning to find we had a guest on our couch. I said, “Hi Jennifer’s Dad” as I walked out the front door to see what was being served for breakfast. Ate some breakfast tacos, had my morning diet coke and a mimosa and checked out all the haberdashery items. Bought a couple of shirts and a magnet. Everyone just chilled outside until it was time to get ready for the hash run.

Someone had an On-On stamp and was stamping everyone and anyone in random places. HOG STRADDLER streaked through the cabins, reminding everyone about the upcoming Naked Hash in 12 hours. We had chalk talk, hares away, then the hounds. Due to the extreme fire hazard, all the mountains were closed. So they ran us through neighborhoods and around a lake. The eagle trail went up on part of a mountain side that was closed…some of them were busted by a man on a horse. The turkey trail went past the lake, on the bottom of the closed mountain and then back through neighborhoods. The elevation still got to my out-of-shape arse on some parts of the trail. I need to turn it up a notch if I’m gonna be ready for Colorado Invihash!

Upon returning to the cabins after trail, we found snacks and cold beer waiting for us. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention this part…Jennifer’s Dad (A.K.A. Jonathan) did trail with us….in jeans and boots! He loves everything about hashing and thought our group was super friendly. Chucky Cheeks RA’d the circle and did a great job. There were many down-downs…and even a butt chug. GROSS! See my pics for more on circle. Notice all of the Austin Hash shirts folks were wearing. Yeah to AH3!

It was finally shower time. I even got in a little nap. Then WET SPOT, LOST HER P*SSY and I tried on schwag from HOG STRADDLER. Got 2 super-cute beer shirts. Thanks HOG! The rest of the afternoon included more hanging out, drinking, 3-Man, etc. FLAMIN’ GAMIN played some polka music…we all sang the “Please Pass the Schnapps” song multiple times.

Soon it was time for dinner…another delicious meal prepared by the Albuquerque and Santa Fe folks.
Next thing I knew, it was time for Apple Pie shots! Had these for the first time at Tex-Mex earlier this year. They are wonderful. Not sure how many of these I did, but it was a lot! I also went crazy taking Apple Pie pictures…so beware…there are tons of them. Then next thing I knew it was time for the Full Moon hash. I wasn’t prepared for it and ended up running it in sandals and a sarong…with a full mug of vodka & 7. Somehow made it up the mountain-side with help from Dusty. We had one shot check and a boob check, then back down through the woods we went.

Full Moon check

Jennifer’s Dad did this hash with us, as well as 2 of his friends. Lindsey, whom we met during the pub crawl, and his girlfriend. Circle was held inside the Hashpitality cabin. HOG STRADDLER streaked through the cabin, again reminding everyone about the upcoming Naked Hash.
The passing of the torch was held, showing that Pikes Peak Hash is now in charge of CoTex VIII. I wish those pics would have come out better. Oh well.

Again, I was caught off guard when it was announced that the Naked Hash was starting. Now, I have never ever done one of these before and wasn’t planning on doing this one, but somehow I got talked into running this one by BUBBLE CUMM. Guess the Apple Pie shots and vodka were working! I actually had a fun time and laughed most of the way. Circle was held inside the Hashpitality cabin again. Hmmm, lots of naked and half-dressed folks inside with light? Whose idea was that anyway?? After circle, several folks headed for the hot tub. Had a lot of fun. Now here is where my memory gets foggy. I’m told it took me about 20 minutes to get from the hot tub to my cabin. Guess I wasn’t able to walk a straight line because it should have only taken one minute! We partied some more in my cabin, then we dog piled HOG and PORK ME NOW, and then I partied some more. Good times, good times. :)

Pics from Day 2 are here.
