It's a Boy! ....and Happy Birthday Bubba!

My non-hasher buddies Ellen and Trevor had their little boy today! Patrick Liam Harrison was born this morning, August 28th, at 6:42am.
Both Mom and baby are doing great.

Weight: 6lbs 10.8oz
Length: 18 3/4 in.

Also, it’s my brother’s birthday today. Happy B-day Michael!!!

If Blogger would work properly, I'd post some freakin' pictures!

And hopefully before I leave for vacation, I can catch up on posting other pics. I've got the Chon Som Appreciation Party, Happy Hour Pub Crawl and the KAW 5K pics to share. But man, these next 2 days before I depart are gonna be busy. I've got my cousin coming over to stay with me tonight because she is gonna take over dog sitting once I leave, so I have to show her around, what to do, etc. I've got to try to pack while half of my stuff is at my mom's house and half at my condo. And now I need to go visit my friend in the hospital by tomorrow night. Did I mention that I need to do laundry as well?

Keepin' It Weird!

Today during lunch I went down to RunTex on Riverside to pick up my race packet for the Keep Austin Weird 5K that is this Saturday night. I'll be wearing my blue wig again this year, but not sure what else just yet. Who else is doing this fun run anyway? I know of a few people, but there hasn't been a lot of talk on the hash list.

I'm a little bummed about the new course though. Just found out about it last night. I don't think we pass any bars at all this year. What's up with that? I say this because I missed out on the hasher stops last year due to a friend, who will remain nameless, who wanted to actually run the damn thing like a normal 5K! I had only been hashing 6 days this time last year, so I stuck with my friends instead of trying to find the other hashers.

Anyway, hope it's just as fun this year. And regarding the meeting place....Hooter's? Really? Even when Aussie's and Zax are right across the street?? Last year my friends met at Aussie's because Zax wasn't open just yet. Maybe my crew will do that again this year. We'll see how many we can get to jump ship. :)

Some pics from last year are here.

1 Year Trail Recap

It sure is a lot of work to hare a trail, but it's great when everything comes together. I think we laid an awesome trail...part in the woods, some pavement, some elevation, and a pool at the end for cooling off. Not too many folks got in though. Guess the A/C in the clubhouse was sufficient!

This trail was also my parent's first peek into my hasher life. We had the beer check in the backyard at my dad's house. I love it there. So peaceful and relaxing with the water feature and woods on two sides of them. Anyway, they were very interested to see what all this running for beer stuff was about and were happy to help out. My mom and step-dad and even one of my dad's neighbors stopped by to check out everything. Also, my Uncle was at my dad's house earlier Sunday morning when Lesley and I passed through while laying trail. He is a runner and bikes a lot, so he was intrigued. He ended up running trail later that day and really enjoyed himself...even after he had a bad fall off his bike earlier that morning.

While we were waiting for the pack to arrive at the beer check, TAF suggested he spray everyone down when they came in, so my dad set him up with a long hose with a shower type nozzle. I must say, it was a big hit. Thanks TAF! FRB into the beer check was BEAVER CLEAVER and DFL was RING AROUND THE PANTY. But, you must know that RING started trail almost an hour after the pack set off. My dad and step-mom said they'd watch out for him and would give him beer and water when he arrived and would send him off in the correct direction. And you know what? RING was not DFL at the end! Way to go Raf!

I believe JUST MICHAEL was the FRB at the On-In and WICKED ITCH OF THE YEAST was DFL. Somehow she got way off trail and circled around and around. She even went up the Beauford hill twice! That is not a fun hill.

The taco and queso bowls were scraped clean, so I guess they were a hit. I know I sure loved it! Oh yeah, and the spicy hummus and crackers that Carol gave me was devoured. For those who asked, she bought it at Costco. After clean-up and pack the car up time was over, I stopped by my parent's once more to drop off some stuff and then went home to shower. Crashed out at 10pm! It was definitely a long day, especially after partying at the Chon Som the night before. I'll be posting pics of both events later. For now, here are the stats of the trail.

Special thanks go BITCH, JAMES BITCH! and SMELLS LIKE TEEN FANNY for being wonderful co-hares, TAF for lugging around the shag bags and coolers and for being the shower guy at the beer check, PADRE for helping me transport the large crock pot of taco meat to the end and for helping clean up at the end, and C'EM CUMMIN for mopping! I can't belive I missed a picture of that. Hope I didn't miss anyone, but by that time I was pooped and just wanted to jump in bed.

Where's Elvis?

Finally got a couple of pics to load.

This past Sunday I participated in my very first picture hash. STRAP-ON ELVIS was the hare and it was the Where's Elvis Trail.

It was fun, except for the fact that it was in the triple digits and trail was all pavement around downtown Austin with little shade. Other than that, I really enjoyed this type of trail. Of course, you had to know Austin bars, restaurants and other landmarks in order to follow this trail. Hope that visitor from Chicago didn't get too lost!

If you have never done a hash like this, here is the scoop on what ELVIS did. At the start, he showed us one picture of himself in front of a place in Austin. We ran to that location and looked for more pictures. Here he had 3 different pics for us to look at. You had to guess which picture was the true trail and which pics were falses. If you were lucky, the first one you tried had more pictures once you arrived. If so, that meant you were on trail. If not, you came to an "F" and had to remember the other locations in the other pics and had to then run to those locations. At each correct location you came to, there was a check mark with either 2 or 3 pictures taped to a street sign, utility pole, etc, etc. I tried to take a picture at every location I came to, false or true...but forgot a couple of times. Forgot to get a pic at the Chain Drive and Hooter's on Riverside!

Anyway, the first stop was at our hasher bar, Lovejoy's.

ELVIS had pre-arranged with LJ's to give every hasher a free house beer, instead of them giving us beer for circle, like they do every week. We soon found everyone except for SMEGMA and CREAMADONNA. They had last been heard saying they were gonna run towards Palmer Events Center, when they should have run to the Austin Convention Center! Those boys were waaaaaay lost. The pack soon took off and we eventually made our way over to Republic Park for the 2nd beer check. A few haswhers were scolded by cops for playing in the fountains. Hellooooo, did I mention how hot it was??

After a little break, we gave up on the 2 lost boys showing up and the pack set off again. We made our way over to the 3rd beer check at the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue, via Hooter's on Riverside. I should have known that was a false since ELVIS works for a different wings place! But, I really was hoping it'd be there because I needed a bathroom break. Still no sign of the lost boys, and we were right by the Palmer Events Center now. Too bad there was no trail to find...only pictures scattered here and there since people took them off the utility poles to use in searching out the location.

Trail ended soon after at Zilker Park. After we had all eaten and were about to start circle, the 2 lost boys came running in. Actually, they were racing to not be DFL! Drink for racing! The hare had provided a lovely toilet and filled it up with ice. Just the perfect item to use for icing hashers on an Elvis trail. :)

Blogger is being a little bee-atch right now and won't upload individual pics. So to view them all, click here.

P.S. I forgot to give a shout out to BONE SUCKER and (MASSIVE) SLUT SLINGER. They both had awesome Elvis outfits! Super cool, yo.
P.P.S. BITCH, JAMES BITCH got an award for 25 runs and STRAP-ON ELVIS got his 69 runs hat. Congrats boys!

Scout, scout, scout

I woke up early last Saturday, Aug 12 so I could go scout out my trail. I knew the area I wanted to use and had one beer check and the end planned out, but I needed the beginning and middle to come together. After stopping by my favorite kolache place for my Ham & Swiss kolache, I headed over, parked and wandered around in one wooded area and stumbled upon what looked like bike trails. Discovered that it didn’t link up to where I needed to go, so I had to backtrack. Cool area though. It was then time to see if another area would link up where I needed it to…and it did! Whoo-hoo, my trail was coming together nicely. And thank goodness, because I was beat. It was soooooo hot out that day and I’m still not used to hilly areas. I wandered around for almost 3 hours…but it seemed a lot longer. I took a wrong turn at one point, which would have led me back to my car. This allowed me to find another portion to use for trail, instead of a path I had planned. So things work out in the end, right?

Well, by now my legs were dead, I had no energy and I was almost out of water in my Camelbak. I was close to my dad’s house, so I thought I’d walk over and rest a minute there and then walk back to my car….which wasn’t exactly close at this point. I barely made it halfway up the hill to his house. Decided to stop and sit down a minute…this also let me catch my breath! At this point, I called my mom [who lives 5 minutes from where I was] to see what she was up to and if she could take me back to my car because the only way to get back to it was to hit hills again. I don’t want to hear it Brownie! Yes, my mom picked me up and took me to my car. I finally remembered I had packed a mini Cliff bar and I devoured it. I then noticed a TCBY, calling my name. I hadn’t had that since high school. We made a beeline for it and I had the absolute best white chocolate mousse frozen yogurt in my entire life! Ok, so maybe it tasted so good because I was extremely hot and famished. Think I might stop in again while waiting for hashers at the start this Sunday. :)

Anyway, if you aren't going to the Pike's Peak Ascent or the Crab Hash this weekend, then come on out to the One Year Analversary Trail for @ss Gagger & Bitch, James Bitch! STRAP-ON ELVIS brought out 5 virgins a year ago on August 21, and we are the only ones still hashing. Maybe even STAYFREE WITH WINGS will put in an appearance since his insane trail was our very first. :)

Muddy Buddy

Scroll down to the bottom of this post for a funny pic I added at a later time....

I took one detour while my family was in town. Decided to go cheer on some friends who were competing in the Muddy Buddy race. After dinner on Aug 5, I packed up some clothes and headed over to the Keever's house late Saturday night. Felt a tap on my shoulder EARLY Sunday morning and jumped up off the couch. It was only 4:25am. Ten minutes later we were in the car headed out to blASSt ZONE'S brother's house. We then caravanned out to the location of the race. It was still dark when we arrived. The boys got their stuff ready and we hiked over to the start area. Janna and I set up our stuff right next to the end of the mud pit so we could watch everyone stumbling out of it.

Man, there was a lot of eye candy out there! Hot, fit bods everywhere you looked. We also some funny costumes. I can't imagine running in and crawling through the mud in some of the outfits we saw. The Keever brothers were the first of my friends to come in. Think around 33 or 35 minutes. Next in were my friends Kurt & April and then Kristin & Maribel.

Once all the adults were in they ran the Mini Muddy Buddy for the kids. Super cute. After that we had Cowboy burgers at Mike Keever's house. Mmmmm, good. Then it was time for a shower and a nap and then a family dinner at Trudy's. Man, I went to bed early Sunday night....

You can check out all of the pics here since blogger won't let me upload any individual ones!

P.S. The Muddy Buddy Race took place on August 6, which is otherwise known as Brownie's Birthday. I had planned on posting a funny pic of him saying HAPPY B-DAY! But due to the busy day, I never had time. So here you go! Oh yeah, and you won't get your present until Invihash.

BROWNIE TURNED ANOTHER YEAR OLDER ON MUDDY BUDDY DAY!

Like what he did to my A&M hat??

Invihash Virgin

It's almost time for my vacation in beautiful Colorado...and my very first Colorado Invihash! 20 more days until Colorado Springs, Monarch and who knows what other cities along the way. Whoo-hoo!

Am I in shape yet? No.
Is the altitude gonna kick my ass? Hells yeah.
Am I gonna have a blast anyway? Damn straight!

Mi Familia

Michael, Monique & Mia at my Dad's house

Don't bother reading any further if you don't give a lick about family stuff......

So, ever since July 31, I've pretty much been doing non-stop family stuff. It's been great to see everyone, but man, do they have to all pick the same 2 weeks to pop in to Austin?! I guess it really has worked out well though because everyone got to see little Mia [my brother's 3 month old baby girl]. I've been staying at my mom's house since August 1, so I've been a little out of the loop with friends, the hash, helping out at Chon Som, etc. I'm ready to get back into the swing of things, but I also need to finish scouting for my 1 year analversary trail, which is in 10 days! I've got one beer check and the ending planned and several ideas, but it's still a mystery right now. Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend....

I won't bore you with all of the family stories, only a few. This one makes me laugh. Do you know what restaurant my brother misses the most ever since he moved away from Texas? We go to this same place EVERY single time he comes into town. The same drill. My mom picks him up from the airport, they come get me from work and we go directly to this place. Here is a pic of Mia at the restaurant. Can you guess it from the decor? His first stop is................

........Taco Cabana! Seriously. That is the first thing he wants to eat every trip. Too funny. I met them there for lunch the 2nd day of their trip too. And then he picked up TC on the 3rd day by himself. He is obsessed! In 9 days here in Austin, Texas, I know of at least 5 trips to Cabana...I bet there were more that I didn't know about while I was at work. Insane. He and Monique also hit up Whataburger, Shady Grove, Trudy's and Central Market. Sorry Hula Hut, we didn't make it over this time.

Mia's first swimming pool experience

One night we had my Aunt, Uncle, cousin and her family over for dinner at my Dad's house. My cousin's little girl was so excited to meet Mia...she couldn't wait to hold her. Super cute.

Here is Ellie with little Mia.

Me and my Bubba at my Dad's house

This past Monday, after Mia went to sleep for the night, my mom babysat and we went to the movies. Saw Miami Vice. My brother really liked it, Monique hated it and I thought it was ok. I will say this...I'm not a fan of long hair, but damn! Colin Farrell is hot. Maybe it's part his accent...no? My brother works in a nice hotel in Miami and has met him there. Says he is very nice and polite. Monique [my bro's wife] doesn't think he is all that. Then my brother said, "if you ever met him, you'd do him." Too funny! Guess all of those stories about Colin are true.

This morning was a sad day. Mike, Mo and Mia departed for Miami....super early, I might add. My mom, step-dad and I all woke up at 4am to see them off. My dad had the airport run duty, so I went back to bed at 4:30am. Took a while to fall back asleep. Had some strange dreams. I almost got up to blog! Anyway, slept through my watch alarm and somehow woke back up at 7:30am...was late to work. Oh well. It was worth it.

So who wants to take a trip to Miami?!

July 30 Party Barge Hash

Ok, so who plans a hash beginning at 10:45am?!? Let's just say I didn't make it considering I went to bed sometime in the wee hours of the morning after Richy's housewarming party. Think I got back home around 9:30am Sunday morning. Took a quick shower, packed a boat bag and headed to Rudy's to pick up a bunch of breakfast tacos. Went to the Keever's house to get everyone moving and to chow. By the time we were ready to depart, it was already past hash time and we still had to get out to the lake. Oh well, I heard it was a super short trail since they wanted to get out on the double decker party barge.

We ended up sailing over to Devil's Cove to meet up with the party barge. We anchored close to the barge and as soon as folks realized who we were, they swam over to greet us...with bottles of Jager! Whoo-hoo! I then swam over to the barge to say hello to everyone. Lots of people came out for this hash and I saw some new faces as well. After many beers and swigs o'Jager, it was time for slip-sliding Gagger to come out. Can't remember how many times I went down the slide....about a gazillion! One time, as I was going down head first on my stomach, and I PEE FREELY jumped on my back without telling me what he was up to. Startled me, but was quite amusing!

Next thing I know, blASSt ZONE was yelling that it was time to head out, so I filled up my cup of beer once more and swam back over. After the lake, we had dinner at the Keever's. BACK DOOR BITCH and JUST ALEX cooked for all of us. It was delicious! But after drinking in the sun all day and having a big meal with wine, I was pooped. Ended up crashing on their couch...once again. How is it that I can wake up and get moving at 6:30am when I'm not at home, but if I am in my own bed, I can snooze until 7:30am?? Makes getting to work by 8am a little difficult!

Here are the few pictures I took from this adventure.

Richy's Housewarming Party

Trying to post this again. Blogger is freakin' sucking ass today!!!

Once I finally got back into town from a big family dinner in New Braunfels on Saturday, July 29, I headed over to my friend Richy's house. He just bought a place and was having his first party. My dinner ran late due to someone picking a restaurant right next to Schlitterbahn and tube rental places...so it was packed with drunk tubers, as well as NB families and we needed a table for 15. It was called Pat's Place and they had pretty good bacon cheeseburgers, but their fries sucked. Anyway, thanks to the Keever's [blASSt ZONE and CUMONAWANALAYA] for picking up some beer for me so I wouldn't have to make an extra stop!

By the time I finally got out to Richy's place in Cedar Park, it was 11pm. I could tell that many of the partygoers had partaken in several shots of Crown Royal. Man, I was sooooo at another level.

Shots of Crown

Babsie [BACK DOOR BITCH] and Robin were cracking my ass up! Anyway, it was good to see different sets of my friends intermingle. Hashers and non-hashers were there, old roommates, boat club buddies, etc. Good times, good times.

Hasher buds

Good ol' Gordon [SPHINCTER BLINKER] sang us some Irish songs and my friend Andy joined in with some Scottish songs. It was almost like a drunken sing-off. Pretty funny stuff. I ended up crashing at Ellen & Trevor's house since they live in the same neighborhood as Richy. I mean, Cedar Park is 20 minutes from my place and I live in North Austin!

Here are the pics.

Baseball and Panties

HERE IS THE LINK TO THAT ADJUSTABLE UNDERWEAR! Perfect Fit Underwear. Trust me, they rock! You are sooooo gonna want a pair. For those of you in Austin, Chad is going to start joining us at some of our Thursday runs around Town Lake. He usually carries some stock in his trunk. So bring some cash. :)

In my rush to get these 2 posts up before the 5 o'clock whistle, I forgot about the pictures! You can see them here.

So last week I went to a Round Rock Express game with some of my softball buddies. One of them had a bunch of tickets, so we got a group together and had an absolute blast. I met up with Kurt and April [they were 2 of the other virgins that ELVIS brought to the hash when he brought me] at their apartment. Did a quick Jager shot and had a beer, then we were off to the Round Rock Plucker's. Ran into STRAP-ON ELVIS there. He was working, so we couldn't drag him with us. We met up with 2 other softball guys here, had a Mother Plucker Mug o'beer and were off to the ballpark.

We met Pat at the stadium [he is the one who scored us the tickets]. Our seats totally rocked! Right behind home plate. Soon after, April's roommate and 3 of her friends joined us. The game was fun. We ended up losing in the end, but it was a good rally. And they even had an awesome fireworks show after the game.

Next we returned to RR Plucker's. Don't think we stayed too long...guess that Jack Daniels I snuck in had gotten to me...and my memory! We then ended up at April's place for the after party. Next thing I know, our friend Chad had brought in his underwear creation. He was on one of those reality TV shows where you invent something. Maybe MADE IN THE UAS? Can't remember. Anyway, he created adjustable thong underwear. He had bags of different colors and designs and all the girls went crazy. I'll post something more about those later. You girls are gonna want to buy a pair!

Finally Getting Semi-Serious

Ok, so 2 weeks ago I finally decided to get a little serious about starting to run again. I mean, I've got to get ready for Colorado and the 1/2 marathon in December...

I met up with some of my hasher buds who run around Town Lake every Thursday. Luckily, the temperature didn't hit 3 digits that day. It actually felt quite nice outside. We gathered under the bridge by Austin High around 6:30pm. The faster folks did the 7 mile loop and the slower group ran the 4.5 mile loop...and we all ended right about the same time. I still need to build up my endurance since I haven't done crap in ages, but I felt really great after finishing. HEAVIN' SEMEN and JUST BRIDGETT were such great motivators when I had to stop to walk to catch my breath. Hopefully I'll get better soon so they won't have to slow down so much for me!

I missed last weeks run due to my brother arriving into town, but I can't wait for this week. I even recruited 2 other folks to join us already! Last Friday I took my brother and his wife over to my pool. I decided to run on the treadmill while they got some sun and relaxed. Then the next morning I woke up at 8am [early for me on a Saturday!] and ran around my mom's neighborhood. I know that doesn't seem like a lot for some of you out there, but I've been a lazy ass for so long that it's been hard to get over that first hump of starting back with working out. And it doesn't help that I've gained weight!

P.S. Anyone else go out to the Muddy Buddy Race yesterday? Holy hell....beautifully toned and super-fit bods everywhere!!! Pics on that to come....but as you know, I am behind once again on blog posts, especially since I've been living at my mom's house while my brother and his fam are in town.

The Morning After

So, the morning after the party kind of sucked. I don’t do well on 3 ½ hours of sleep. But, I couldn’t go back to sleep after I was woken up by the Killeen folks that Saturday morning. I decided to get dressed and hit Whataburger for breakfast while waiting on Tuck It to get the U-Haul truck. When I returned, I was the only one waiting to help with the move. This didn’t thrill me since I was beat, but I was there to help out as much as I could.

To my surprise [well, not really….everyone loves DBD & Tuck It!] more people started trickling in. Heavin’ Semen, Beaver Cleaver and his daughter, blASSt Zone & Cumonawanalaya, Free Meat and her sister Alisa, I Pee Freely, and…..seems like I’m forgetting some folks. Well, more hashers met us once we loaded up the first truck load and had caravanned over to their new house: (Massive) Slut Slinger, Instant Replay & Ram Rod soon arrived. DBD picked up some fried chicken for us...and of course, there was already cold beer waiting for us.

After a quick rest we headed back to the old house for one more load. This is where I started to drag. It was bloody hot and I was on little sleep. Somehow we managed to get one more truck load ready and got everything unloaded before the light sprinkle of rain...the temperature finally dropped some and it felt awesome outside with the breeze. We were then treated to a smorgasborg of delicious items, hot off the grill. Thanks to Tuck It for buying my one request...Beddar with Cheddar brats! And guess who decided to arrive right when the food was almost ready? Strap-On Elvis and Cornolio. Great timing guys! Ok, so Elvis came straight from work. What was Corn's excuse??

Oh yeah....and it seems that Cumonawanalaya loves the kiwi Mad Dog 20/20!

Cheaper's Party

There was a party for Cheaper to Keep Her at DBD and Tuck It’s house on Friday, July 21. Now, I had stayed up super-late the night before and needed a nap after work, so I didn't show up until around 10:30pm. When I arrived, many folks already seemed quite drunk. Apparently, they went to Baby A’s before the party…enough said.

While at the party I learned a new game…Tippy Cup/Tipsy Cup. It was fun, quick paced and something new. I’m a little tired of 3-man…nobody ever pays attention while playing that game and it can get frustrating. Guess I need to stock up on red Solo plastic cups for Invihash because I’ll be making people play Tipsy cup there!

After some games, next thing I know is there was wrestling going on inside. Bonesucker & Ticket Master; Tuck It & Ticket. He [Ticket] was trying to show everyone some choke-hold technique. I had learned that move the week before and ended up with a gigantic bruise, so I just watched this go-round. Oh, yeah....and I can't forget about C’em and Just Katie sparring outside…and then Bear protecting Katie by biting C’em’s leg. Ouch! Later, while outside chatting with some folks, I heard a thump. I look over to see Ticket lying on the floor of the deck. I thought he was joking around. But he didn’t move. The choke-hold on him was too hard, he got groggy, sat down, stood up and then fell flat on his face. For some reason, he was wearing his “sunglasses at night” and he scraped up his face pretty badly. I grabbed my first aid kit, which was already inside due to C’em’s bite, and we bandaged him up. Hope it healed quickly!

Later on we took some pictures of a passed out Dick Semens with a big stuffed duck. Next thing I knew, it was 5am and I decided to hit the hay. Took over one of the kid’s beds and crashed out. Woke up at 8:45am when the Killeen folks were waking up their crew because they had to hit the road early.

Here are the pics.

Blogger has been sucking ass lately and it won't upload any pics to this post. So be sure to look through the pics to see Ticket's cut up face [ouch] and the GOTA candidates straddling each other's lap.
